Been talked about before. If he ever did return he would still be the same player he’s been for most of his career: most effective off the bench. Do we play a system that would mean he could start regularly? Maybe in a 5-3-2 with Henderson up front but that’s possibly the only one. Would I welcome such a prolific striker? Of course. Does he fit the Rochdale of today? Not sure. But he’d be the ultimate sub option as he always has been. |  |

He could play up top with Henderson just behind him in a 352. Not sure how quick he is anymore. I think we need a bit more pace up front to team with Henderson's guile. Andrew could then offer a more physical option when needed.
Even with the 30% increase in budget I am not sure could afford his wages. Unless like Perkins he fancies one last hurrah with Hilly on a lower wage for a couple of seasons? [Post edited 29 May 2018 20:20]

It is a bit crazy that nowadays we rely on Henderson to score the lion's share of the goals, while for a good part of those three or four seasons from 05-06 to 07-08 the club had Adam Le Fondre, Chris Dagnall, Glenn Murray, Rickie Lambert and Grant Holt on the books. | | | |
