I saw a tweet a couple of weeks back from someone who claimed to see lots of the players bar somewhere. Said that they were all going on about Jamie Allen coming back then. 99% chance of bullshit, 1% hope...

Can't see it happening myself. He'll be on a better wage at Burton and still has time on his deal. He'll also feature in the first team a lot more now they've come down.

Given the way that transfer deals work with transfer fees not paid up front, I'd very surprised if there was to be any move for Allen. Burton probably owe us half the transfer fee so for Allen to return, we'd probably have to write off what was owed by Burton. I doubt we'd be in a position to pay £250,000 for a player like Allen so whilst could be wrong, just can't see it.

So if he was to come back in the next season only likely possibility would be on loan. Perhaps with Burton paying his full wage and part of that being deducted from what they owe for transfer payment.

He played 29 times last season so wasn't exactly struggling for game time in the Championship.
