Twitter wars 09:00 - Sep 24 with 4839 views | 442Dale | Could they lead to proper ones? Thought long and hard about posting this, so can we please try and avoid the thread descending into a farce. It's more about the fact an individual like Trump believes it's appropriate to use social media to provoke an entire nation, to me it's staggering he's allowed to say anything almost unchecked.
What exactly are the rest of the planet doing? Do leaders not contact him and say they won't back such methods? Shouldn't there be condemnation of these tactics to at least make Trump aware that he isn't helping matters? Whatever you think of the actions of North Korea, he's threatening to kill millions of people in front of the watching world.

He should be roundly condemned by everyone with a voice. He is also alienating the two main sports leagues in the US with divisive comments and a racist agenda and fuelling civil unrest. I don't think it a stretch to say he has the potential to be more of a threat to world peace than Saddam. How such a small minded man was voted in I do not know. [Post edited 24 Sep 2017 10:37]

By small-minded people? That's the democratic system - US style (yes, i know, lessons in democracy and its alternatives not required, thanks. And don't mean you of course, Dalei) It could be argued that Trump is simply the manifestation of the US hinterland, and since Twitter is one of the products of their ascendancy in media technology they've unleashed their own nightmare As an optimist, I'd argue that somebody like Trump was inevitable - just like the development of nuclear weapons - and its a test for us all to see how capable we are of responding to such a scenario No worse, possibly, than the Bay of Pigs episode under the much-vaunted Kennedy

America was faced with an unenviable choice Trump or Clinton. That they chose Trump over Clinton was because they recognised how evil Clinton is. They chose the unknown over a known devil, I believe they had little choice but to reject Hillary Clinton and in doing so the globalists zionist banking cartel further enslaved the American people as they rush headlong into the new world order. The genie is out of the bottle, and some might regard it as healthy that we're hearing the views of the POTUS up front rather than such things being discussed behind closed doors whilst blandishments are spouted to camera Authenticity. Yeah, it really isn't anything to do with where you stand on the political stage, it's how Trump is choosing to go about things and whether the rest of the world's leaders are prepared to ignore his scattergun approach to dealing with situations. Worth noting that he doesn't contain it to social media either, his statements on twitter are often mirrored in public too. How hard is it for the UN or anyone else in a similar role to the US president to come out and say that he's completely irresponsible?

Twitter wars on 12:05 - Sep 24 with 3381 views | R17ALE | What exactly are the rest of the planet doing? What can the rest of the planet actually say or do? I don't even think The Trust can do much on this one. Do leaders not contact him and say they won't back such methods? No idea, but I imagine there will be dialogue between him and other nuclear countries like us and Germany. Shouldn't there be condemnation of these tactics to at least make Trump aware that he isn't helping matters? You'd be very brave to condemn the President of the USA and it wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference either. My knowledge of Nuclear weapons is very limited, but I have been told the atomic bombs dropped in Japan in 1944 or 45, were small fry compared to today's versions which could easily wipe the UK off the map. Therefore, for something as irritating as Twitter to be playing an unhelpful role in something as cataclysmic as this is very depressing. Far more uplifting would be to see Trump and the odd Korean chap get in a boxing ring and knock six shades off each other. Queensbury rules would naturally apply. In the meantime we can only look on nervously, or do what bury fans do and enjoy the ride!

Twitter wars on 12:14 - Sep 24 with 3361 views | KenBoon | Social media is dog sh*t. It's hard to imagine how something like Twitter will get worse, but it inevitably will. Trump is a joke but he's one the democratic party deserved. Having read some excerpts of Hillary Clinton's new book, she still doesn't seem to understand why she lost. I'd hope the democratic party would learn the tough lesson and change, but it appears unlikely and instead just double-down with nonsense like her "basket of deplorable's". It's the shame of world leaders that DPR Korea has been able to starve millions of her people for years and there's been nothing to try and help. When the world should have been helping they were just treated as some silly country with silly haircuts, instead of a country that murders and starves its own. When I see people try to compare so-called Trump's America to North Korea it makes my blood boil. North Korea is genuinely a country with not one hair of 'free speech'. The only religion is the ruling family. You can be worked to death for breaking the rules. Entire families have been imprisoned, enslaved and worked to death for crimes of one member. People - including kids - freeze and starve to death on the streets. Politicians are murdered (not fired) by the leader. But apparently, The USA is worse? The sheer entitlement of some people astonishes me. They cannot see beyond their little bubble, and Twitter, in particular, helps to enforce that.

Focussing on the Twitter aspect - is it authentic, sabre rattling or delusional? Threatening to obliterate a nation isnt that statesmanlike unless you mean to go through witb it. If so would you announce it on twitter first? 146 characters is not the sharpest diplomatic tool. But if the cap fits 'the Donald' ....... I am mostly apolitical but he scares the sh1te out of me. Fortunately, I have Greek beer to take the edge off at the mo. Going back to Twitter, it used to be good for breaking news but there is so much noise from likes, retweet and ads I'm coming close to switching it off.

It could be all three, they're not mutually exclusive, and if they genuinely reflect what floats through the space between his ears then yes, probably all three The question of whether the US would take the ultimate option should NK develop the capability of landing a nuke on US territory has been with us since at least the early 90s, and previous tactics haven't deterred the UN-backed proliferation ban International diplomacy doesn't have a great record in preventing mass casualties, and whilst Twitter isn't diplomatic it certainly puts the cards on the table. It worries people, but maybe we should've been concerned anyway, whilst options were previously discussed behind closed doors as far back as the Clinton administration Enjoy the beer! While agreeing with your main points your confidence in American democracy is greater than mine. Trump was placed there by appointment and will remain until his masters decree otherwise. He has been placed there to divide America. A divided America will fall into chaos its already happening, its a classic Marxist strategy divide and rule that always works. Obama and his administration were also the complete opposite to Marxism. The fact that they did on purpose keep "an army of proletariat" out of work, with many in work on very low wages, is the opposite of what Marxists call for. It would be Marxist policy to WANT a high wage full employment. Obama brought in no policy that could even be close to being really socilist , not even Obama care was fully a NHS type, free at point of use health service. The closest to Socialist main politician, is Berni Sanders, and even he doesn't want to nationalise the major monopolies, not even water, power and transport.

Mark you are entitled to your opinion however its one I disagree with. Obama's grandfather was a communist as was both his grandmother and his mother, his father was a communist as was the man many say is his biological father Frank Marshall Davies. Frank Marshall Davies was very influential in Obama's early life. In his book dreams of my father Obama had this to say: "to avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. THE MARXIST PROFESSORS and the structural feminists and punk rock performance poets." almost all if not all of Obamas political appointees were marxists and anti American a couple of examples are White House StaffSenior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs, Valerie Jarrett Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs — Valerie Jarrett Jarrett is involved with vetting all the extremists Obama has appointed and thus, has to be an extremist as well. For example, she was aware that former Green Czar Van Jones (who withdrew) had a long history of involvement in Communist Party causes, but still said she was “delighted to be able to recruit him into the White House.” She had to have known, because she married into a family with a pedigree of Communist Party involvement. Her father-in-law, Vernon Jarrett, worked closely with Obama mentor and Communist Party leader Frank Marshall Davis in a number of Communist Party front groups during the Cold War years. Valerie married Vernon’s son in 1983 and later became chief of staff for Mayor Richard Daley, where she was a key player in perhaps America’s most corrupt big city political machine. Obama does not go forward with anything without her counsel. Political advisor — David AxelrodFor those who think Axelrod is just a good campaign consultant, you couldn’t be more wrong. Axelrod has a long history of working for obscure socialist candidates and Obama was no different, politically, from his other clients. In fact, promoting socialist causes was a family tradition. His mother wrote for a New York City tabloid called PM Magazine, which often promoted the Communist Party line. Indeed, author IF Stone, later revealed to be working for the KGB, was PM’s DC correspondent. Much of the tabloid’s funding came from Marshall Field, a hard left millionaire who also funded Saul Alinsky’s training school. Axelrod has spent his entire life promoting extremist candidates, but no one bothered to look into his background. Today, he advises Obama on all things political. Counsel, State Department — Harold Koh The man Obama has named as the State Department’s legal advisor is Harold Koh. Koh believes America should defer to the International Court of Justice to determine legal precedents; a totally unconstitutional endeavor. He is a member of the “trans-nationalism” school of legal thought that believes all distinctions between American Constitutional law and international law should vanish. Incredibly, he even believes Muslim law —Sharia law— should be applied to some disputes in US courts. Clearly, his views are in contradiction to the Constitution he swore to uphold, but no matter, he is now in charge of all legal issues for the U.S. State Department. Chief Diversity Officer, Federal Communications Commission — Mark Lloyd Like many of Obama’s appointees, Lloyd worked for George Soros, the foreign billionaire who funds anti-America groups. He seems to be enamored with dictators and has even publicly praised Venezuelan Communist dictator Hugo Chavez’s “incredible…democratic revolution.” He also wants to use the Fairness Doctrine to “balance” talk radio and believes there are too many white people in the media. He has written that unless there are “more people of color, gays and other people…we will not change the problem.” One of his solutions to “balance” the media is to fine conservative radio stations up to $250 million and give the proceeds to National Public Radio. Where did you get all of that from? Please name one measure brought in by Obama that was Marxist. Also Hugo Chavez was not a dictator, he was democraticically elected in elections overseen by foreign observers that included that well known Communist, President Jimmy Carter, who said that the elections were very well conducted in a fair way.
