The pearl st (new) singing section - Sandy/Pearl Drum? 08:58 - Mar 22 with 5698 viewsaleanddale

Thought these young lads did great last night. Can only hope they bring more and more of there mates to increase the volume in that corner of pearl st.

A terrific effort they sung for 90 minutes non stop even at 0-2.

A welcome addition to get some atmosphere into Spotland...

It even crept into the middle of the stand joining in occasionally.

Well done lads ( and the Drum! )

All for the singing but (I know I’m in a minority) the drum can disappear.

Nope. The drum is pivotal.

For years I've read on hear "oh drums are tinpot blah blah blah".

Drums aren't tinpot, people's archaic mentalities around what "family football" should be is what's tinpot.

Long live the drum and the singing section, not once in thirty years of following The Dale have I seen more enthusiasm that what I witnessed on a cold Tuesday night this week.

The drum stays and you'd better get used to it.

I think the club want to move the drum into the family stand, which will split that singing group because a number of them sit where they currently are to "banter" with away fans. Hopefully the club realise it's best to let the singing section develop organically, and when we get bigger away followings the focus remains on our team and not "bantering" with away fans.
