Favourite stadium you've been to? ( After the Liberty of course!!) 13:37 - Feb 20 with 8074 views | Jarvo | On the eve (plus a week) of the young swans taking on Hertha's youth team at the liberty, what's your favourite ground you've ever been to? You can probably guess from the introduction I'm going to say Hertha Berlin's Olympastadion. Built for the 1936 Olympics in Nazi Germany the stadium is a two tiered bowl with one stand cut out behind the goal for an obelisk style monument. A living museum of a stadium. Also absolutely love Charlton's The Valley! With clear patches such as the corners, which have been added later, ungracefully. The one solitary tiny 'shed' of a stand for the away supporters makes it feel like the whole massive stadium is surrounding you. As intimidating of a stadium you'll see as an away fan, even if the fans themselves are busy munching on kale and egg tarts and not in the least bit scary! What ground do you think deserves an honourable mention? [Post edited 20 Feb 2017 13:42]

"Petrolul Ploiesti " Forgot to mention that one. Best new ground I've been to. Tight with a steep rake. Exact opposite to the awful Etihad and Emirates.

Favourite stadium you've been to? ( After the Liberty of course!!) on 14:21 - Feb 20 by swan65split | Doncasters Belle Vue, I ran across it in 68 after we beat them in the cup.................it seemed never ending! lol never mind the big stadiums I really liked Bradford PA old ground ...... |
Bradford Park Avenue's old ground is still there, amazingly enough. The stands have gone, though, but some of the terracing remains. Don't know what goes on there these days. A ghostly sort of place. Some of the old stone gateways are still standing and in faded letters you can read "Entrance: 5/-" (that's 5 shillings to you young folk). It's now overshadowed by a massive & unfinished mosque, and is at the northern end of one of Bradford's roughest estates, called Canterbury. Effin dire place to live.

I remember Nuremberg being a sombre place ... we took 5K there and I always remember seeing big Harrogate Jacks Flag there which in the eighties was quite rare. Also remember thousands of German skin heads all over the place so everybody kept a low profile outside the ground.
Favourite stadium you've been to? A club member told me that the supporters club takings paid for the new training ground. Never going to happen at the Liberty in my lifetime. Gay meadow left me some good memories.....old grounds full of character.

I was going to mention Crewe. Had some great trips there back before seating was brought in. Nice compact ground, low roof that let the sound bounce around. I really enjoyed going to see Fenerbahce at their place for a local cup semifinal- the intensity of the hard core fans on both sides was something else. Don't ask me to remember the name of the stadium though. Súkörk Syćyürkjk or something!

The Rovers fans at the Tote end made Eastville a real intimidating place along with the contant smell of gas in the air from the adjacent cylinder made that visit quite an experience. I remember going on a supporters train to a match there from Swansea to Stapleton Road and was police escorted to the ground under a load of bricks from Gasheads. They trashed our train from the car park and on the way back through Cardiff they also bricked our train when we had a carriage of no glass in the windows and all the curtains was closed. Quite surreal now to think what supporting football involved back then.

Saw us lose 5-0 there in '86 I think we're being generous referring to it as a stadium!
