So if you're and adult that wants to sit down, you have to part with £300?

If the clubs ambition is 2,000 season ticket sales you'd be talking MAX half of that. Don't think you'd ever be able to shut the Pearl Street / Sandy Lane ends without upsetting fans, unless half of the pearl street seats were replaced with safe standing areas.

One of the biggest plus points of the half ST is the simplicity - for marking purposes alone we have to get away from the maths involved when people see prices.

It was laughable to read £314.50 or whatever it was on the form for one stand this season. Talk about making something too complicated just to try and stick to the usual way of doing things. When the half ST were announced it was one price for everywhere, straight away that grabbed attention and you didn't need to start trawling through to work out anything else.

Do the same next season: £200 anywhere in the ground and £50 cheaper for existing full ST holders. Matchday prices can be different for the different stands but we've been shown the way forward for season tickets as not one person has mentioned any issues with the blanket approach for the £100 offer.

Exactly

KISS

Keep it simple stupid.

Simple no nonsense come and snap my arm off offer!

Come on the Dale never in the history of the club have we had a better chance to build on a fan base..

Even x3000 home fans week in week out would be a success.

I think that even with a flat rate season ticket of £150 - 200, which would have a serious impact on their cost base and budget that year, Dale would struggle to fill 3,000. If they can only attract 1907 against Walsall when playing flying football and banging in 4 goals, when are they going to get a staple of 3,000 home fans?

They have to price the games towards benefit/low earners. £100 ticket will be snapped up but double or treble that and the offer will not be taken up at the same rate. Initiatives at Charlton (£5) and Gillingham (£10) led to increased gates.

Until there is improvement of the disposable income of the town, the football club will always find it challenging to attract large crowds that are not dependent upon a good away following.

Thank god for Keith otherwise we would be absolutely Thomas Cooked.

Is there any scope in the club doing something different to try and tempt people to come more regularly? Unless something goes seriously amiss with pricing those on here with season tickets will still buy them and those who go to just about every game will go to just about every game. The key market to growth is to get those who only to come to a few games a season to come more often and those who have never come to start attending.

How about in addition to ST to have a say flexible 8 game season ticket book costing £100. Affordable enough to pay in one go for more people, gets people in and gives them a saving for their loyalty/commitment but isn't as cost effective as a full season ticket. And there's nothing stopping the person getting a second 8 game book part way through the season if they use the first one up. Also it works better for those who work some weekends or can't make the evening games

Would have to be £100 to shift 3,000+. Beat Barrow, and draw Utd, then watch the half-season tickets fly off the shelves, though (assuming they will have priority for tickets)!

If the club paid you £200 could you hit 35000 targeted people with next years full season ticket offer?

If you can you should contact the club ASAP!!

If next years offer for 23 games is £200 or less for 23 league games we should sell around 2200-2500.

I'll mention it to Frances and Russ.

I don't know the exact details of the previous Hartlepool ST scheme but imagined it to be similar to this, which I think we should be going down the lines of...

Start them at £250, and reduce by £50 once we've sold 2000, reduce by another £50 at 3000, they'll be at £100 at 4000 and stay at that. Really market the idea, on the back of a good season it should do well. End of the day, we need fans, and the only way to bring them in is going to be cheaper seats. If we receive a substantial amount from any SH deal, I think it would be worth a gamble, but crucial that it is marketed appropriately so that everyone interested in football in the borough is fully aware of the offer, at the same time being easy to understand whilst eye-catching. It will also encourage those that buy to share with friends in the hope they purchase which will ultimately bring their own ticket price down.

Whether we introduce other pricing streams for various stands and ages is debateable, I personally wouldn't, to keep it simple, but there will obviously be those who feel they should receive cheaper due to be existing ST holder, but you'll never please all.

And remind me of the club our new chief exec came from... Hartlepool!

Whilst he had left before the start of the of the season perhaps he had some input on this and knowledge of how practical it turned out.

Russ was involved in the referenced scheme at Hartlepool a few years ago, not just before he came to us.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

So what do you propose happens to the Wilbutts Lane stand? Putting all Dale fans in the Main stand won't work if a price promotion is made, taken up by over 1800 and people want to sit down. As a Pearl Street season ticket holder, I find the seats in the Main Stand more restricted when I had to use them for Checkatrade matches. Think would also reduce the overall atmosphere that the Pearl Street generates.

I personally wouldn't swap my Pearl Street seat for any single one in the msin stand.

High up, it's the best view of the game (excluding away fans view)

Toilets either end
Food either end
Exits either end
Bar underneath

The padded seats in the mainstand for me (tall) are very unconfortable.
The normal seats in the mainstand are less confortable, but still tight.

That my opinion, but equally happy for a Sandy Laner to extoll the virtues of being close to the game and being simply able to move away from an idiot by walking.

Each to there own.

Sandy Lane stand is probably the worst terrace in the FL league when it comes to a view of the game. Honestly I think it's time to raise the price in there to the same as the Pearl Street. There's a couple of reasons for this. Firstly the folk in the Sandy generally go in there because they want to stand, which is a selling point in itself. Secondly the terrace is terrible and needs modernising. The extra money could pay towards making it steeper and a new roof.

The Sandy is perfectly fine for what it is. Have a look at places like Cheltenham and Wimbledon, there are terraces like it dotted about and they serve a purpose.

Also the view from one side isn't that bad either, albeit you're never going to get a comprehensive look at what happens at the Pearl St End. However, a front row seat in either seated stand isn't much better either.

I was just looking at something and I ended up on the Charlton website - I see that they are doing £100 half season tickets as well (they are doing 12 games), although only for certain sections of the ground. Their prices are tiered and get more expensive for different parts of the ground with a quarter of the HALF season tickets available in the main stand costing £330!!!! And when they charge £29 per game you are already out of pocket if you miss just one game. I can see why their fans don't like their owners/board/club structure with things like that.

Ridiculous as usual....

Worst terrace in the football league...wrong

Let's increase the price to stand there as it's the worst terrace....yes let's punish the people who want to stand there and get them to pay more whilst at the same time try to increase crowds??!! Seriously wtf....

The man Boon has long been a critic of the Sandy and those who use it NB.

It's quite comical in a way. And he's very wrong. The views from the wings of the Sandy are excellent and those of us who are regulars there are like a small community who know each other, and enjoy supporting the team as best we can.

However, it would be lovely if we could throw a load of money at it and build a better terrace. But I'd rather "slum it" as it is perceived* we do and watch better football.

*Perceived as in popular misconception.

EG: Not all main standers are moaning, whingeing fans who are aged over 50.

There is nothing finer in football than standing behind the goal in the second half when Dale are attacking towards it. We all know there are far better views all round the ground, but none make you feel as part of the action as that does.

The current set is spot on. We have got home ends to suit all tastes and an away end that caters for massive away supports.
