If this happens it'll be one if the most baffling transfer decisions for years.

Hmm. Moralee must be pushing for another agents fee.

Has been a man mountain for us and pivotal to our rise. I'm amazed we managed to keep hold of him for this long quite frankly. Not the best in the air and always has a mistake in him but usually backs it up with a succession of solid performances. Can't begrudge him leaving to double his wage for the last years of his career.

Our recruitment policy though, I knew it had been pretty awful in recent seasons but f*ck my eyes. Letting a succession of players leave without having adequate replacements is beyond dull. And, if this does go through its likely we will go into the season with no striker, a new captain and no replacement for our best centre back.. That's if we intend to replace him at all. Sort it out.

how dare you suggest that he and his client take advantage of the club in no mans land and with an extra £30m in the coffers that they cannot afford to up the wage

The fact that article is written by Wathan and with his by-line makes this particular rumour rather more believable than I would have thought.

I wonder if Moralee has done his usual and the new owners have said 'fine' rather than the usual response which has been to up his contract?

Very very strange decision if true. Not doing much to help themselves on the old PR front are they?

On the face of it, £10m for a centre back who'll be 32 this month is good money. But not if we don't reinvest it wisely it's not. It'll be a matter of hours before we start hearing about James Chester won't it...

Just Ayew left to ship out then.

"Michu, Britton and Williams could have won 3-0 on their own. They wouldn't have required a keeper."

But Daniel Parry on Twitter down the beach said it's all bollocks.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Dont worry, we still that useless turnip Fernandez to boss the back 4, and Van Der Beetroot to step up with our 14 yr old left back and 40 yr old right back

We could recall Bartley, and make him the new captain.

Time for Amat to grab his moment and become the fantastic defender I believe he is capable of being. He needs someone better than Fernandez or Van der Hoorn along side him though. £10M for a 32 year old centre back is a ludicrous amount of money. So the shopping list is:

1 centre back
2 strikers
1 right back
1 centre mid(?)
1 winger(?)

Nope. Hes getting recalled so we can stick him up front to win knock downs for the long ball. The Americans view him as a cultured Andy Carrol

Dont worry. The deluded on here will tell us that £10m is a good deal blah blah blah. Yet, he is the captain. The heart and soul of the team. A leader. We need players like him to stay. He is too valuable on and off the pitch.
