West Ham on 22:03 - May 10 by Darran | The FA cup game there was frightening in 1980,well I thought it was anyway. I went there twice in 1980,not for the faint hearted. |
I was at that FA Cup game, remember very little about it except that we lost.
West Ham on 22:21 - May 10 with 2159 views | FieryJack | Hope West Ham hold onto this. Dennis, my Hammers mate, was with me in our end on saturday because he couldn't get a ticket in their end. I felt bloody sorry for him I have to say, paying 60 quid to stand in our end and watch his team get demolished. He was planning to go tonight without a ticket and try and attach himself to the back of his brother (a season ticket holder) and get through the turnstiles piggy-back style! Expect he may have got arrested in the attempt.

West Ham on 22:04 - May 10 by SwansNZ | FA cup in 1980, there were bloody loads of them in “our” corner. Not a nice place to be for a 14 year old. |
There were loads of them in our end and it kicked off an hour and a half before the game started and continued throughout the game. Not a nice experience that day, and I had flashbacks on Saturday.
West Ham on 22:33 - May 10 with 2020 views | phact0rri | ugggh... and the sad bit that the commentary mentioned nothing on the reason for the delay just MANUre had some trouble getting there. if it was our lot, you know that they'd be calling hooligans.

they didn't mention it on the bbc radio commentary until the news bulletin after the match. I'm at work so I just listened to it there. But good on that. I also heard that the West ham board completely said it was all lies, and no one was doing anything, and went on to yell at ManU for not coming on time. It'd be funny if there wasn't people hospitalized.

West Ham on 22:50 - May 10 with 1819 views | controversial_jack | According to some locals in the Millers pub in East Ham Saturday, when they played in the FA cup recently two coaches of Man Utd caused havoc in the pub. The train from Paddington was held up at Bristol Parkway for half an hour because the Police were called to deal with abusive Swans fans coming back from West Ham. Most teams have an element of tw*ts who follow them

Coppers knew they were there and were part of that day ,got as good as they gave in fact during the game some of ours were knocking them down like nine pins as they came between the coppers and yes it was our lot who demolished the toilet wall to get at them ,still never seen old men chucking coins at us plus the golf balls and some darts from our left side ,horrible lot in those days

Always remember when they won the cup in 1980, on the Sunday morning, I believe they had a live broadcast on BBC of the victory parade. At the time when the FA Cup was a huge trophy to win, can't remember any other winners having such coverage. The old love in of the east end, jellied eels etc etc. Goes back to the 2nd world war, not to diminish the impact of what people had to live through, but the images of the Queen Mother visiting the east end have always struck a chord with the media of a romantic image of the east end. I agree with you though, don't particularly like West Ham fans, my opinion formed when a significant number chanted vile abuse at Glenn Roeder mocking the battle that he had against cancer. For me that summed them up. As someone highlighted above all clubs have their percentage of horrible fans, I honestly can't imagine though Swans fans in any significant number or any, chanting what West Ham fans chanted towards Glenn Roeder and that goes for the vast majority of clubs.. So last night's incident not surprised at all. Beer flowing, on it all afternoon and the true east end rears its ugly head. One thing though. The blanket coverage of Sky's coverage this morning of the incident, yet they haven't highlighted quite a significant story. Man Utd players, after the game sat on the damaged coach (bless them, think Sky said in increasingly cold conditions!) for an hour and a half waiting for a replacement coach! The story should have been, 'Why the fu ck weren't they sitting in a warm, plush lounge' as befitting the self professed biggest club in the world? The reason, they were probably so incensed and disgusted at David Sullivan's remarks that quite rightly didn't want anything to do with West Ham. Yet Sky have failed to realise or highlight that story, which in my eyes of mass coverage is pretty big!

Swans fans have always had a minority who have let themselves down in the past. However if anything showed the difference in class between our fans and the large minority of West Ham fans who caused the problems yesterday, it was our classy response on the Sunday game against Liverpool recently. I wonder if that had been WHU playing Liverpool, what their (the minority of fans) response would have been before the match and in the 27th minute ?
