In real time, it looked like a two-footed lunge and therefore red. Vincenti and others made sure the ref knew they thought so too.

I spoke with the Doncaster player who got sent off, he told me the referee said it wasn't a foul but I am going to book you both anyway to him and Vincenti and they both were saying why book us at all then.

Nobody expected Camps to pull the ball out of the air and hit it in one movement, a fantastic piece of skill and quick thinking. Chaff commented at the time ' If Messi does that in tonight's game, they'll never stop showing it' and he was right.

He was collecting the long ball as Camps had to bring it down from around shoulder height - for Camps to bring it down and then have the vision to see where the keeper had moved to was incredible for me. He virtually controlled it and shot in the same movement - stunning finish and its a good indication of really how good a player he is. My goal of the season - even better than Oldham because I think when you hit it like he did it still requires a bit of luck to go in from that distance. Yesterdays was all about perfect control and vision.

Certainly a fine goal, though I wonder whether Eastham intended what turned out to be a 60-yard pinpoint pass, or was just belting the ball upfield. Also struck by the similarities of Donny's first goal and Canavan's: a determined run to the by-line, in Dale's case by McDermott, followed by a cross and hooked shot. Canavan, incidentally is I think the 17th Dale player to score in the league this season, a higher number than usual.

I don't think the manager of a National team goes scouting players for other people, why would he do that? It was suggested earlier in the thread and seemed a bit laughable.

Maybe he wanted his picture taken with roccy?
