Arry thinks we're going down on 15:12 - Jan 4 with 4232 views | ymaohyd | I'd have to say that I agree with him. Fair play to Alan Curtis and the team that he has around him, they have certainly improved things and fair play to the players, they have shown a desire to play and fight for the club, yes I know they are well paid etc etc, but we certainly won't go down without a fight. Realistically we are up against Bournemouth, Norwich and Newcastle for that last spot. With the present structure at the club financially and otherwise, I can't see us getting stronger in January and afterwards. The others though (particularly Norwich and Bournemouth) seem steadier and along with Newcastle will invest more heavily in Jan. That isn't always the remedy I know, however, we just aren't scoring and I scratch my head to think how we can turn that around. The decisions the board may be making now, may well make us a stronger proposition in the Championship, however as far as staying up is concerned, just cant see that the dynamics at the club will give us more than a fighting chance of doing so.

Arry thinks we're going down on 15:15 - Jan 4 with 4215 views | TheKirkyLife | He's also deluded enough to think Leicester will actually fall outside of the top five and that Manchester United will overtake Tottenham in the form they are both in. Utter codswollop and a real stupid time to publish a prediction especially before the end of the January transfer window.

I really think it'll be Newcastle with Sundy and Villa. McClaren is a total idiot and they will get progressively more divided. I wouldn't put a bet on though. There's a voice nagging at me that our stupid defeat at norwich when they were playing for a 0-0 at home and we had enough of the ball to win 3 games may well come back to haunt us when the chips are down.

I think Newcastle have enough decent players even with McClaren at the helm to stay up.

Not just them 3... If Sunderland eat us they are a point behind us... That game is massive.

Sunderland with Sam stand a chance, Newcastle have decent players but Mclaren at helm. I think Bourne will be sucked into the mix, Norwich seem to giving it a real good go. Villa gone.

Hope so. I was really impressed with them at the Liberty to be fair. They have an identity and that is something that we are lacking. I was listening to the Watford, City game and before the turnaround at the end, commentators were waxing lyrical about how the Watford senior players went to the manager after 5 games and wanted to revert to the system they played last season in the championship and how they have improved since. Hate saying it, but GM, HJ's and or the backroom staff fuc ked up big time this season and possibly last by changing our style. At the time I thought we were evolving into a very effective team, but instead we have just lost our identity. The great Bill Shankly had a blue print for what constituted a 'Liverpool' player and it stood them in good stead for many years until they lost their identity. On a lesser scale you realise how good we were when the likes of Leon and Rangel still look the most comfortable by far on the ball. We have bought far too many non Swansea style players and now we are paying for it. That is why I think well go down, particularly Norwich and Bournemouth, know what they are about where as we are trying different shapes etc. Between us and Newcastle for me.

Arry thinks we're going down on 18:00 - Jan 4 with 3541 views | VetchitBack | Like many others wish I could disagree. New striker and manager changes everything though. If any of the bottom 5's best striker was Bafetimbi Gomis I'd tip them for relegation.

We need 6 wins and a few draws out of our remaining 18 games, bit of a tall order going on the previous 20, we need to find a way of scoring goals and from more than one or two players, Ki, Gylfi, Routs, Ayew, Gomis and one or two others and all types of goals, players running at pace into the box looking for penalties, being a bit more savy at set piece time. etc.

Arry thinks we're going down on 19:01 - Jan 4 with 3384 views | RockAndBaconRoll | I like Hazza Rezza but I think his judgement is clouded here. He's not going to knock Bournemouth considering how connected he is with the club, and he can't do anything but back his friend and recent colleague McLaren. I'm not saying that what he's said is without merit - but is not as cut and dried as it seems. For what its worth, I think it'll come down to Newcastle being worse than us - those around us won't get pulled down, we won't get much better, we just have to hope Newcastle stay crap or get worse. That is, unless we recruit a manager soon and strengthen in the way we need to - with that, my prediction changes.

West Bromwich are 7 points ahead of us which will take 7 games at current rates for us to get. They also have Pulis who specialises in staying up.

Arry thinks we're going down on 20:43 - Jan 4 with 2999 views | ImAlrightJack | I see two situations on the final day. It's either already relegated or already safe, not a final day decider if we do or not; those sort of final days are dead rubbers or non-existent now. By dead rubber, I mean like last season for example, Hull were never going to beat United to surivive, it felt like the script for that day was already written.

One other factor is will Citeh have anything to play for ?, for example they might already be champions or they could be 4 points behind the leader and 4 points ahead of 3rd place. The game before that is at West Ham and we have got very little chance in that game as its their last ever game at the Boleyn ground, it will be a full team going full guns to beat us no matter where they are in the league, its a disasterous fixture for us it could not be worse, if Man City are playing for the title then we need to have got enough points with 2 games left. Nothing is impossible but most neutrals would say we would get nowt from our last 2 games particularly if its all on the line for Citeh, WHU is very close to no chance no matter what, unless they have lots of injuries and we are on form and fighting like demons and they crack under the pressure.

You don't think that if we need to winto stay up we'll be fighting tooth and nail too? For WHU it'll just be a party. Life is more important than lunch. I'd fancy us in those circumstances. I still think we'll be clear by then though. Everyone's acting as if we are totally doomed. I don't really get it...it's like we've mass moved to merseyside.
