What happens to Queens Park Rangers if we're relegated? 14:39 - Jan 6 with 9296 viewsSuffolkHoop

Seriously,

How bad would it be financially, and what would the implications be on the management, the playing squad and on our ambitions for a new stadium and improved training ground?

What is the situation with FFP and the Football League? Will we be allowed back in the Championship without paying a huge fine?

Does TF have the means and/or desire to stick it out? His other areas of business aren't doing so well right now. Could the prospect of another season in the league below be enough for him to call it a day? In this event, who steps in to take on our assets and liabilities?

I'm not being intentionally pessimistic, I sincerely hope we stay up and think there's a good chance we will, but relegation can't be considered an unlikely occurance either. Is the club properly prepared for a potential relegation in less than five months time?

I look at how prudent Amit came across in the four year plan, i just cannot see how he would be happy with the level of debt and ridiculous spending that has occurred over the last 3/4 years

What colours would we all like AFC QPR to play in? I'm thinking............... erm............. hoops.

And could we please have veggie burgers on the menu of the catering van? And I'm very happy to come and install some ecological loos............ anything else?

‘morbid curiosity about where this is all going’

But isn´t he (Amit) still on the board as a rep for the Mittal Family? Presumably this crazy spending/huge wage bill (Hughes and HR) would have in some way been sanctioned by them as well. Its not just the football that is in trouble its the finances as well and I for one would not let HR anywhere near a transfer kitty after the 2 years he has showed so far. Was the Sheff Utd game just a ploy to get TF to loosen his wallet further? If relegated, then he can blame no transfers in Jan. Is that his game? Fire him immediately get rid of some of the nonces playing/or not playing for the club on high wages feck the cost now better for the long term (still fuming that wage bill 2012/3 was 78 million and total income for the club was 68million) and get bosh, disco and northernr to run the company immediately!!!

If we go down and do have a big ffp fine, then a mix of a meeting in the middle with the league and staggered payments will see us ok. Those payments can come from the parachute payments of going down. We'd have no money for new signings and might need a fire sale of our assets on the pitch and who knows, maybe go down again. But we've been there and done that before.

The off the pitch stuff depends on those who hold the purse strings - Mittals/Bhatia, Tune, whoever. If they're serious about New Queens Park then they'll follow through, if not then they won't and we will remain where we are.

Fernandes is not a major shareholder in QPR.

He owns 30% doesn't he ?

If so, that makes him 'A' major shareholder in my book. not 'THE' major shareholder obviously, but a major player nonetheless.

Or is that 30% a consortium ?

We will be in an AFC Wimbledon situation, assuming enough can be bothered to even do that.

I don't think an afc qpr would work, fanbase is far too split nowadays for that to happen.

You're right pal, we'd have 'Ruislip Rangers' and 'Queens Park Hempstead' and all sorts.

Basically it's now or never. My fear is that I see almost no 'energy' in this squad now. They look mentally spent already.

I find it hard to judge the affection Fernandes may or may not have for QPR as I can't help but think he'd be exactly the same whatever he was chairman of. His Twitter account used to say great progress is being made at Caterham on a weekly basis but truth be told none ever was. Now he's dumped them and called in the money.

I would imagine a second relegation might prove a step to far for Tune Group, unless there was actually some genuine progress on the stadium front (unlikely to happen anytime soon).

But they are quite entangled and they can't just up and leave the club.

I always think a relegation could lead to a useless player clear out and a chance to adopt a measured, sensible approach to coaching, transfers, youth players etc but it always turns out to be the opposite - blind panic and gambling on an instant return.

Of the current playing squad, who's contract expires in the summer? It'd be interesting to see what we'd be left with in terms of useful and useless players, and who we'd have to sell and be able to keep.

Could be a big clear out i think:

SWP, Dunne, Hill, Ferdinand and Zamora are all out of contract in the summer.

Barton and Onuha were signed around the same time as SWP, have they ever signed extensions our are they out as well?

Faurlin and Hoillett must be coming to the end of their deals too?

Vargas, Isla, Krancjar loans expiring too.

Depends what you mean by entangled, if you mean in terms of money (losses) spent and little hope of getting that back then yes they are.
If you mean simply deciding enough is enough and placing us in administration then no they are not.
Regards Fernandes, the way he comes across would I believe be the same wherever he had ended up, I know little of Caterham tbh and I would say there are growing problems in F1 of which Caterham are a big focus, BUT it goes beyond them, to the Cartel Big 4, with others starting to question the point, themselves and Marussia have gone, b others could follow suit, also there is the question of TV monies, and what countries are interested in F1 show coming to town, atm there is still some interest but it's waning with South Korea dropping out this season for example.

The big prize is a new ground though. I would like to know what property is owned both in training ground area and area for new ground.

I'd likewise be interested to know who owns Warren Farm. How committed were the board to ever building it?

With regards Caterham, TF didn't call in loans, the 'investment' from a Tune was actually in the form of huge bank loans from Malaysian banks who called them in.

Entirely possible of course that the £170m+ from Tune in QPR is actually from their pockets, rather than also from banks, but find that a touch unlikely personally.

Warren Farm is owned by Ealing Council. We've agreed a 200 year lease, but I have no idea if it has been signed yet or not.

The land at Old Oak - we own none of it. Apparently we've agreed terms with the owners for 100 acres out of the 300 we want to develop but, again, I don't know if the 'we' bit is our shareholders or our partners (Stadium Capital) or a combination of both.

So we'd have only a handful of players we could sell on, no doubt for less than we paid. Bit of a relief that lots of older players contracts expire in the summer, although Hill maybe worth another 1 year deal.
