Not sure it'll make much difference but would be handy if he's out, been Uniteds best player so far this season according to the United fans I've spoken to

He probably makes their defence worse

England V Switzerland match thread on 21:39 - Sep 8 with 1792 views | daveB | Jones was excellent tonight as was Henderson and Sterling. Think England have the makings of a decent side, can't see them getting close to winning anything but certainly on the up

England V Switzerland match thread on 21:02 - Sep 8 by Northernr | Jesus really? If the referee wasn't making allowances for a debutant he'd be in the bath by now. Lovely, lovely goal. Great to see. We've played well overall, should be more than one up. |
You can't play well if you're off the pitch, but he seemed to be on it on my telly.

He was fortunate. He settled down after half an hour but that first 30 minutes he was a red card waiting to happen and I reckon seven or eight times out of ten in an international he'd have been off. Don't think it's the occasion either, he does it for Villa, can't help himself.
England V Switzerland match thread on 21:43 - Sep 8 with 1757 views | kysersosaqpr | Played well. Should have won by more. Thought Delph is a great find - more positive and quicker than others in midfield, Henderson and him could be middle for a while.
| The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. |

Well he's obviously lucky for Villa too, with 87 PL games and no red cards. Maybe he's the new Scholesie haha. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

England V Switzerland match thread on 22:02 - Sep 8 with 1665 views | ElHoop | Welbeck getting two won't really help United's general frame of mind either. Won't leave them thinking that they're definitely getting things right now.

Basically just qualified for France 2016 which for us fans traveling over will be a great laugh. Good Team performance and Great result
England V Switzerland match thread on 22:05 - Sep 8 with 1653 views | CHUBBS | Haven't seen them since the Uraguay game and thought they played well tonight, especially the defence who looked far more assured than during the world cup. Having said that Switzerland weren't much cop and made England look better than they really are. Although Sterling didn't have a great game, the ball for the 1st goal was something pretty special. This has got to be the easiest group we've ever had to qualify from so thats about as exciting as its gonna get.

I probably have to be one of them, did slag England off but they played well tonight, so far this season ive predicted we would beat Hull and Spurs and lose to Sunderland and Switzerland so i am predicting we will lose 3-0 vs Man Utd with a poor performance!

No but we did play Argentina in Saint-Étienne which is about 30 odd miles from Lyon. Camp sites in and around Lyon were full of England fans.

There is a massive housing estate in Lyon packed to the rafters with them and the bus from our camp site to centre of Lyon went right though the estate, not a nice bus ride. They used to stand on the bus looking you in the eye waving a knife about waiting for us to start, used to just smile at them. Kept off the beach in Marseille saw enough of them riding about on mopeds with the the guy on the back waving knives about to know not to fck with them. Just sat in a bar breathing in tear gas.

They dont have to be playing, Tunisians are to France what the Poles are to the uk, there are thousands of them there, . The ones in Lyon were just after trouble with the English, doubt if most of them knew the world cup was even on. [Post edited 8 Sep 2014 22:57]

England V Switzerland match thread on 06:47 - Sep 9 with 1370 views | PunteR | Good result, the performance was ok but its still work in progress. They seemed a little unsure of where their team mate was or wants the ball at times but that's probably because they're a young team newly put together. Hodgson doing as good as he can. Good to see a bit of team spirit at the end as well, plus you could see their relief to getting a win.

England V Switzerland match thread on 10:27 - Sep 9 with 1269 views | paulparker | well I was one of those proved wrong and for the 1st time in awhile I actually enjoyed an England match so fair play it was a good result, with a very inexperienced team, I still think Wiltshire & Milner are weak links and would like to see either Huddlestone or Shelvey given a run , also as much as I like Stones he isn't a RB & neither is Jones what Clyne has to do to get a call up is a mystery overall well done to Roy
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

But do you not think the fact England were playing Tunisia in France at the World Cup had something to do with it?
