If it benefits both the club and player, then great. Too many on here willing to stick the knife in when its not needed on here. If people cant see the benefits of having the experience of a player thats lived and breathed the club for the last decade having risen from league 2 to the Premier League that he can impart on others then i dispair. |
I think it COULD be great to have Britton as a coach. Wouldn't it be great if he could pass on his talent to others. I've been saying to my mates that it would be great if we had a player with Brittons skills coming through, and we didn't the trouble of trying to get one in

Again (sorry to be a busy c*nt) but being a good player does not automatically = being a good coach.

I don't know how any Swans fan can say that Alan Tate is nothing more than a player that stayed longer than he should. How short-sighted can one get? Call in someone like kevin keegan instead he has done loads for the swansea community, he will be able to instil our unique club ethos and impart is deep routed swansea experience on others wont he. |
I didn't want to be seen as a maverick, just someone who needed to go to work and earn a few quid ;-) [Post edited 8 Sep 2014 21:04]

Alan Tate on 22:31 - Sep 8 with 791 views | dameedna | Alan Tate will be on a wage of over 1/4 million pound per annum plus player insurance costs for the club As a coach how much will be be paid? 75k per annum in the Prem and linke to staying up so the likes of Tate, Britton, KOL, Monk can stay on as long as we are in the Premiership It all changes if we are relegated anyway and I enjoy Tate enjoying the ride

You are living in cloud cookoo land if you think a premiership players wage is £250,000 per year try 1 million pound so in 4 years we would have paid Tate 4 million pound I think he might have started 3 times

I can assure you Alan Tate is not on 20k a week. Our contracts are largely made up of performance and appearance related bonuses. On a week he doesn't play (which is nearly every week) id be flabbergasted if he picked up a pay cheque of over 8k. Which is about 400k a year.

Correct. | |
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

In addition, during the last few seasons, AT has played for Yeovil, Leeds and Aberdeen so I'm pretty sure he'd be playing for someone now if he was fit and probably will be as soon as he is fit. If/when that happens we will probably not be paying all his wages anyway.
