Losing the plot 05:45 - Jul 29 with 4051 viewskysersosaqpr

Who are we in for? As of say august 1 who are we talking to to get in? Icelandic forward, west ham No 10, Watford forward, Dutch midfielder, and French midfielder (or two). Is that it or anyone else? Am I right in that the deferral consensus is defence seems ok; winger/wing backs/ wide men ok; central midfield and forwards we're light? Does Remy staying and Taraabt staying change transfer tactics/ priorities?

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

Just think we've still got 3 weeks until the 1st game!! We lose tonight and it's all over!

The sooner the season starts the better as when we are not playing inevitably people panic. If the season started tomorrow we could choose this side :
Green
Rio caulker ned
Simpson. Traore
Barton. Henry
Taraabt
Remy Austin

Ok it won't happen but if certain players are on board then that's a decent side and still have Phillips and hoilett as more attacking options wide.

Players will sign, chill winston.

Too soon to be grasping at what the line up will be vs Hull. But I dont think it will be the one you have below.
I am interested in how YSY looks so far. He did not embarass himself in Brazil. Simpson is a credible RB. Not worried there. Plus if Remy starts wide (please) behind Austin, the opposing backs will be busy.
-I dont see Taarbs staying...just dont.

I'm chilling till September. No one knows WTF goes on in H's head (or Tony's ) and I've learnt that me stressing aint changing nought.
Hence the rarity of player related posts from moi this time.
Unless I have a few sherberts then I'm really gonna let rip ...

ok so I've played championship manager and when you come up to the premiership with an old aging team and not make significant signings you do not stay up. Bearing in mind last year we scored very few goals against worse defenders and the only one of our players who will possibly significantly improve over the summer is charlie austin due to the age profile of the squad. Also bear in mind our midfield was over ran at times by championship teams last year and at times we had a shockingly low level of creativity and all this without significant suspensions or injuries... Trying to find 3 worse teams than us could be a struggle.

Poll: Are we gonna make the play offs?

If anybody honestly thinks there's any chance of Harry Redknapp tackling the first half of the Premier League season with Barton, Henry and Faurlin as his only central midfield options they should probably see a head doctor.

That is not how I see it. Most on here still think we need more signings but some are not panicking as much as others that is all.

Completely agree...would rather we made good signings that take some time than just threw cash around for the sake of it. We've been here and done that before and look how well that turned out.

Caveat: Obviously not every rumored deal is ever finalized, BUT so far we were linked with Steven and Rio and those WERE completed.

Now we are (supposedly) in for Valbuenna (FA) and after Fer (relegation clause). Both are easy to see as fitting what HR has in mind. Amalfitano also fits the mold of an experienced attacking midfielder.

Also significant is HR has gotten rid of Mbia, Diakite, Granero, AJ. Bosingwa, Cisse also have gone plus BZ Hill, Ale and Green are on modified contracts. Point is I expect there is room to add.

You don't call Ferdinand and Caulker "significant" then?

I am chilled as of now, but I am starting to sense a panic transfer deadline day brewing. Redknapp does love a Deadline Day signing. But honestly 3 more players and we will be fine. Fer, Holtby and a striker would suit me

Steady on now Van Gaal.
Post of the summer right there.

Get Tonton Zola Moukouko in here to play alongside Alan Pouton and Omar Daley with Tommy Svindal Larsson in behind them and we'll pis it. Maybe even Champions League qualification like Scunthorpe did when I was manager there. They were happy times.

We wouldn't have got Caulker without getting Ferdinand, he is a big selling point for the club now

Spot on quality over quantity I did advocate a return of Niko but after abit of analysis of last season he was to absent far too often. The signings we make need to be real assets we are never going to have a top quality squad because we don't have the money, but a top quality 1st team is a must for survival.

Can we still take over Tranmere and get their £32m off them for Tony Witter, Mchael Meaker and Maurice Doyle?

My point was not to panic and as I stated I do not expect to see this team but we do have a side right now that would not be the worst come opening day. I expect changes, at least 5 and maybe more depending on adel/ remy. HR has recently said its up to adel to get fit and he could be an option, not sure I believe him but either way adel needs to be fit.

Also, if remy plays, he would have to be alongside Austin not on the wing. We are playing wing backs so wouldn't expect wide attackers also. 3-4-3 is extremely adventurous, expect 5-3-2.

Like Northern said. Potential post of the year winner. Nice one.
