Off the back of Discodroid's worst of thread, I thought I'd start a best by genre thread.
I'll start with the baton: horror
Mr Friedkin you crazy man. Saw in the cinema in my 20s for the first time, having read the book and knowing the head turners (sorry) and it still gave me the willies.
Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

The last 60 seconds of Derby's season DVD.
Wouldn't call that horror. More a thriller and suspense. Nothing goes right for the good guys for 99% of the show and then an unsuspecting finale, the good guys win and we all live happily ever after.
There aint half been some clever bastards.

not really horror but 'the cube' very unsettling..
the original 'thing is imperious..john carpenter was shit hot then.
i thought angel heart and blue velvet were very unnerving, but not really horror i suppose.
from the old skool...'theatre of blood', 'the abdonable dr phibes' and 'witchfinder general'

Event Horizon for me.
Fúcking love that film
Huh... I wrote the original story that was adapted as the film, Event Horizon. I also wrote another that got adapted as the film, Bad Santa. My two claims to fame. That and being an R!

So my amazing horror films. Some less well known ones;
Feast Monsters Identity Bubba Ho-Te The Mist S;ither Black Sheep Wasting Away
The Mist's ending is hands down the most downbeat ending I've ever seen, utterly marvelous. Frank Darabont changed the ending from the Stephen King book it's adapted from and even King later confessed that the movie version ending was better than his!
I like a bit of Japanese horror, anyone remember Audition (Odishon)?

Hammer House of Horror. 70's kids dream Horror movies. Not very scary but you could get some Dianna Dorrs cleavage and maybe even a full flash of Glenda Jacksons puppies
