Not good reading for Michel...

In WhoScored's Premier League team of the season in his debut campaign, Swansea's Michel Vorm has seen his form dip lately. Rated at just 6.49 this season, he is WhoScored's worst-performing 'keeper in England's top flight with at least 20 appearances. Having saved only 61.7% of the shots on target he has been tested with, he is providing very little resistance as the last line of Swansea's defence, and he has the players in front of him to thank for the fact that the Swans only allow their opponents an average of 4.2 shots on target per game. Swansea have the fourth-worst defensive record in the Premier League this season and, but for their goalscoring record, might be even more heavily entrenched in a relegation battle.

There are a couple of Goalkeepers doing well in the Championship, Fulham's Ali Al-Habsi is playing well as is Kasper Schmeichel.
Ali Al-Habsi has played 20, let in 17 and had 8 clean sheets.
Kasper Schmeichel has played 39, let in 37 and had 14 clean sheets.
I wonder how well they would do in the Prem.

I think we know the answer to that in Al Habsi's case and isn't Scmeichel at leicester? If so, we'll soon be finding out about him too.

I'm sorry but those stats don't tell the whole story at all. Vorm has pulled off some vital stops in recent games like he did in the Norwich game and I can't remember him being beaten by shots that were down his throat like tremmel has been on numerous times this season. The man city game at home springs to mind. We all know what he can do between the sticks and I feel confident every time someone takes a shot at him.

Not to specifically focus on your post too much acejack but I'd argue its only Norwich that he's done so recently - very much the exception not the rule.

My heart used to be in my mouth every time a cross came in but now it's every time the ball is near him.

With a centreback pairing of Williams and Caulker his aerial deficiencies were somewhat hidden but have been very much on display this season.

The comeback of "his agility makes up for his aerial weakness" is now out of date thanks to a variety of statue impressions.

I remember thinking yesterday if we could strengthen in one area it would be in goals closely followed by a centreback to play with Ash.

If Tremmel is average at shotstopping and average in the air then Vorm is now average at shotstopping and poor in the air. No contest for me and I'm surprised this is a contentious view.

The orthodox are always orthodox, regardless of the orthodoxy.

He's been beaten by a few weak shots from the edge of the area - Moses' goal for the scousers sticks in my mind as one where if he'd positioned himself correctly and stretched for it he would have saved it without a problem.

As alluded to I dont think its his shot-stopping thats his achilles heel, its his general awareness and hestitance whenever the ball comes near him; The Palace game was a case in point. The defenders obviously dont trust him, and after the first season where I though he was magnificent he has definitely looked pedestrian during games this season. It is a position where we definitely need to strengthen next season, if nothing else but to promote competition.
