Never doubted his signing for a minute....

Seriously, he slotted in well. Went off cos his hamstring was tight. Hopefully back soon cos his 45 minutes were impressive.

Very surprisingly impressive first half

He was fecking superb for the 1st half, anyone who thinks different is lost, hope injury isn't bad!

Proved me and most others if we are honest totally wrong. He was immense in the first half. I was gutted he didn't appear for the second half, but Pablo was an adequate replacement

he did well, but where was Pozeulo today? didn't hear anything about him being injured and he wasn't on the sub bench. i hope he still gets his chances, though he is at his best as a 20-30 minute sub at the end.

As someone who has advocated and supported his signing I repeat - GOOD PLAYER!

30 goals no, but that's not the point.

Poz was spotted in the swimming pool with JJS and Michu so I assume he's injured.

Marv did OK, but I wouldn't play him in that position.

No one else on the pitch could have played that ball to routledge for the goal. That's what you get with pabs. Just about every other pass went to a red shirt. Still worth his weight in gold for that one killer moment.

He's not a striker though. He's been judged on a hot streak and therefore rubbished due to a lean streak. He's an advanced midfielder in the Poz/Michu mold, give him a chance, not like the philistines up at Boro.

The free kick for Bony's goal was another superb ball by Pablo.

Involved in the build up for the second as well.

Class act on the rare occasions when he's fit.

Question is, will we see the formation with 3 wingers in more often like we did today and against WBA? looks effective to me.

I'll judge him at the end of the season. Not sure how many players don't even come out for the 2nd half because their hamstring is a 'bit tight'

marvellous marvin, was everything we knew he could be, excellent movement, pace on and off the ball, direct and great link up play.
whats not to like eh?
good decision to take him off if feeling his hammy, laudrip would have sent him back out and we'd have him off the field for weeks.

on the northbank since 64 now languishing in the east stand

Yep, Pablo made a telling difference when he came on.

Emnes did better than I thought he would, we should have been one up in the first minute, great play from Emnes there.

Just heard Saunders half time analysis heavily criticising Emnes movement - different game to what I watched

I've always like the bloke. He plays in a woeful Boro team but our style of play suits him and us. He was everywhere last night and full of energy. We have got so many options now it's frightening. He cold be a massive impact player for us and linked well with Bony at times, but his play out wide was immense.

i also had to endure the complete bollocks that came out of saunders mouth too - he was either pissed or watching a different game .

thought emnes was fantastic but so glad he went off and hernandez came on - we all know what happened next :)

He played very well and the fact 'Mr Football, Laudrup' hadn't heard of him speaks volumes. If a player hasn't played in La Liga then ML has no knowledge of them.

(TBF half the managers in the Prem wouldn't have heard of him.)

Huge praise for Marvellous and Monk.

1) Emnes coming in an unfamiliar position
2) doing a great job in the first half (especially his link play with Bony)
3) Monk knowing he had would cope with a derby game.
4) he provided more of a presence in the hole than Jonjo

So, if he's prepared to play in the same position as a regular choice, I think he provides us with a fourth and different option with Jonjo, Michu and Poz being the others..
Only time will tell but he could end up as one of our most important imports of the season.

Put some willing runs in but the ball bounced off him more times than Cardiff defenders bounced off Bony. Might be of some use in the future but Hernandez was an immediate huge step up in class.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Pablo had a typical Pablo game for me brilliant and changed the game but still managed to give the ball away too often.

I guess you didn't see GM's post-match interview on Sky then?

Emnes could have come back out but GM made the call and put Pablo on at half time rather than waiting.
