Beatles..your favourite track..
at 09:36 3 Mar 2025

So many great songs over a such a short period. Depending on the day my favourite can change between numerous songs. As good as Lennon and McCartney were Harrison's "While my Guitar gently weeps" "Here comes the sun" and "Something" are mega but if I had to pick it would be "Ticket to Ride" a great undervalued classic from the mid Beatles era.

Blades' cutting edge too sharp for Rangers' toil and chug - Report
at 09:28 3 Mar 2025

Thanks Clive great report as always.

Yeah agree we played well - Lots of commitment and endeavour and deserved a point. We all thought Varane played well and gave him MOTM in the car on the way home just ahead of Saito who as you say was excellent when he came on. If only that header was two foot lower he would have brought the house down.

Bad news on Field but I thought Colback did well and a big chance for him now to try and earn another year contract over the next eleven games.

Overall we left disappointed but not to downhearted.

C&S is definitely the best boozer for pre match drinks but unless you are there before 1.30pm getting a table is unlikely. We sometimes also go to the Princess Victoria if pushed for time at least it's not plastic glasses but getting served can be challenging. Why they don't get a couple of extra staff on matchdays is beyond me.

The Adelaide is okay but plastic glasses. If we get the tube in we go to the Sports Bar in Westfield which is okay too.

Great listen with a G&T that Clive - Thank you.

Especially loved the commentary intro and ending - I closed my eyes and went back to that rainy night FA Cup replay under the lights.

"and somewhere in the middle of all that is Kenny Sansom" Wonderful!!

And breathe... - Simon Dorset's annual deep dive into the accounts
at 18:11 26 Feb 2025

Thank you Simon - Great summary.

Great we squeaked in under the FFP bar and thank god for our owners continuing to fund these massive losses.

By god we could do with Eze moving on for £50M in the summer. I'm surprised no one (Man Utd, Spurs or even Arsenal) have not come in for him.

One year and counting we still have that waste Taylor Richards on the payroll.

The Morgan - Varane - Field midfield
at 19:24 24 Feb 2025

For me this is the nail on the head - Sorry but Chair goes onto the bench away from home and starts at home.

I can not think of a game away from home for ages where Chair has made the difference.

At home (especially Friday nights and SKY cameras) he is pure mustard.

Cheers Clive - It was one of the rare games I didn't go to or watch on TV or a stream (just about to invest in one of those fire sticks). However the away's I have been to this season are Derby, Leeds, Swansea, Leicester and Millwall and as you say it sounds like rinse and repeat on any of those. That 15 minute spell after half time is rarely any good for us for some reason.

Got my eye on Preston as the next one hopefully the penny will have dropped by then.

Away form?
at 17:56 22 Feb 2025

We may need to change our formation, tactics and shape when playing away.

Need to block the midfield when away especially for the first 65/70 minutes.

For me that means Morgans legs and maybe Chair on the bench.

BTW - I wasn't there today or watched the game so I am saying this on the games beforehand.

QPR finances released
at 12:34 22 Feb 2025

Thank god for our owners continuing to fund the club to circa £2M per month.

Good to see we are heading in the right direction on and off the pitch but it still scares me how much we continue to rely on their funding. I mean even they must have a limit on continuing to throw money down the drain at these levels.

Cracking read that Clive.

I was really confident of a win tonight but now after reading Derby's away record I am bloody terrified.

That old Chinese proverb is never far away:

In the blue corner – Report
at 09:56 13 Feb 2025

Thanks Clive spot on as always.

I've still got the bang needle this morning with the outcome. Mainly because of our 3 corners in stoppage time and Paal letting the ball go out for a throw which started the chain of events that led to their goal.

Anyway we are still 11 points off relegation and a big Friday night game under the lights to come this week. I would love to put a nail in Derby's coffin Friday especially after our pathetic performance up their place earlier this season.

At my age it should not be the case that my moods are so attached to this bloody football club.......My poor wife suffers every time.....and she doesn't even get to go out this Valentines evening because of it.....

Did Nardi Cost us the point?
at 14:46 12 Feb 2025

Nardi sat down because Coventry changed their shape half way through the second half so allowed Marti to get his counter shape message across to the players. For me he is the best keeper we have had since Smithies. Dare I say it Premier League standard. I think we will get a big offer for him in the summer.

Agree on Paal and Chair - Dead balls are very poor and Chair continues to frustrate me. We need more from him especially in that position seems like he playing with the handbrake on.

A point would have been a fantastic result and we definitely deserved a point on the balance of our play all evening.

That late goal gave me the bang needle - I had to go into the garden with the dog afterwards to calm down. Haven't slept well either.

This bloody football club............

Great insight thanks Clive.

Personally I would bring Varane back in and put Chair on the bench for tonight's away game. However on Friday I would start Chair in the 10 role and put Varane or Field on the bench.

Great report thank you Andrew - Really enjoyed reading that.

A cracking game under the lights and I thought we were really good across the team which had a lovely balance to it. Be interesting to see if Marti sticks with that starting eleven or decides Varane will give us more protection away from home.

I also thought the Ref had a good game and it's a much better spectacle when they allow the game to flow and not want to be the "star of the show" blowing for every minor technical contact.
