Pitch covers
at 21:29 10 Feb 2025

At many cricket grounds Ive been to they have an efficient system to first get the water of the covers away from the wicket and then folded and wound onto a storage frame. Takes very little time. There must be something similar possible

Shareholders can voice their opinions….if AGMs are held at reasonable times for them to attend. And the majority shareholders can choose to ignore them. The days of small shareholders getting together to determine the direction of the club are over.

The only people with the prospect of influence now are the season ticket holders. It would be a big hit to Mr Gauge and his supporters if the season ticket holders got together and stopped buying their season tickets. Not that I am suggesting they do that…but its the only influence left.

Shareholders are toothless since the last EGM. The only voice that counts is that of the Ogdens and so far they have been fully supportive of Gauge (obviously its not a case of track records but what you spout)

Nothing we can do as fans or shareholders. Its the Ogdens club…not ours. We need to get used to it.

Its happened to perhaps the greatest club side in the world, Man Utd, so perhaps we shouldnt be surprised it has happened to our own club. And remember the shareholders voted for it. Turkeys and Christmas comes to mind.

When did the Ogdens buy their cut price shares? If it was during the accounting period it will have made a big difference to the accounts.

Dale v Stoke U21 21st Jan?
at 23:58 21 Jan 2025

Dead right…makes a mockery of the record books.

With 331 attending even if all were adults paying 2 quid that 662 quid. Imagine what the costs were, referees’ fees, Staff, floodlights etc etc.

The pitch needs as much recovery time as possible soplaying these games in the depths of winter is madness.

The games in hand need winning and we are facing a fixture pile up. Its not going to be easy and like you, i dont want the club to sacrifice the chance of a wembley final.

Its going to be two games a week for the rest of the season and possibly more. That only increases the chance of injuries and players needing a break.

Hoping we can handle the fixture congestion.

My post didnt mention the ogdens.

They are obviously successful people who invest in community initiatives but maybe they think they dont need to hear the voice of minority shareholders.

I think they are bright enough to know holding the AGM when they did would limit the participation of shareholders who invested in the club long before they did.

Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes and make sure future AGMs are timed to maximise the participation of shareholders.

Which was the purpose of the timing of the meeting no doubt.

Shareholders voting powers watered down and now their voice has been as well.

Another sad day in the 100 plus years of what once was our club but now is theirs.

Appears that Jimmy Thompson, 89, and Peter Whyke, 85, are the two remaining players from those two legs of the League Cup Final.

Shareholders AGM 2024

Thanks for posting the link, but I dont see how it prevents the club being sold to unscroupolous owners. It seems to relate to preventing owners doing unscroupolous things (selling ground, moving leagues, changing name, colours etc). But it doesnt seem to have anything to say about change of ownership. Also it doesnt prevent what one were scrupolous owners becoming unscrupolous.

I am not against the notion of the golden share, on the contrary its a good thing. But I dont see it restricting who the club can be sold to, beyond exiting provisions of directos tests etc and we know they are pretty useless.
