I think for the older players like Morrison and Smyth, they should be trying to get the place on merit in training or improving on areas of weakness, not just waiting for loans to leave. We could get more kids in the squad and give them minutes but personally I'd leave it at least until after Leeds to make that call. You'd hope everyone at the club would be aiming to aim as high as possible to send a bit of a message that we've turned a corner and aren't going to be in relegation battle next season. |

Hopefully the add ons for Dykes are either appearances or promotion and not goals. He's played 25 times and scored 1 goal in league 1, all be it probably mostly as a sub. |
 | Forum Reply | Trump v Zelensky at 14:09 1 Mar 2025
The irony is that the people who tend to agree with trump and trump himself, would be the last people to be happy if the boot was on the other foot. If Mexico annexed Florida and started attacking Texas, would he accept just letting them keep the territory in the name of peace? Would similar minded people in the UK be happy with France taking Kent? All the while Russia's aggression is not directly effecting them, it's easy to ignore that and concentrate on what does effect them, which is the financial aspect of supporting Ukraine. But it's quite possibly cheaper in the long run to support Ukraine to stop Russia earlier rather than let them become emboldened to do more. They're already entering our airspace regularly and damaging other countries infrastructure in the north sea. |

We could have an official crampon supplier, increase our sponsorship revenue. |

I thought the party line was that we wouldn't loan players that we have no chance of signing. I think Saito is a possibility, Spurs aren't going to let us sign their lad. Obviously if we can boost revenue and cover the costs, it's slightly different but still potentially blocking pathways. |
 | Forum Reply | Chair finally in the middle long term? at 23:18 4 Feb 2025
I'd say yes at home or when playing teams we expect to sit in and need breaking down. If we're away or against a team likely to dominate possession then I'd go Field, Varane and Morgan. Good option to have though. |
 | Forum Reply | Chair - positional change at 19:08 28 Jan 2025
I think you need to evolve the system as opposition change how they set up against us. We started that run with very few CB's available and makeshift full backs so we needed the defence protecting. Teams would also have seen us as a winnable game and come to attack, now they may be more cautious. I think Chair might be good in that role so long as he presses and works hard. I don't think he's a lazy player, so don't see why he wouldn't. As others have said, it will give Saito a chance, we have Dembele coming back too. It should also allow for rotation of Morgan, Field and Varane which may protect the team from drop off in performance from fatigue. If it works it could be a good option to switch things up against teams who are more defensive. |
 | Forum Reply | Dunne off? at 08:22 24 Jan 2025
I think this is the most compelling argument however I think that the club should be resigning him with a view to him being replaced at right back and forming part of the long term center back partnership possibly with Morrison. He's shown he is solid at CB in the championship recently while covering for injuries. He is great in the air which is something we need at CB and set pieces. He has a great attitude and comes across as a big part of the team ethic that's improved our season. We have Cook and Fox who are getting on and JCS and Morrison who seem to be injury prone, so if we let him go we're going to need a RB and CB. Anyway, they should be doing everything they can to keep him. |

If someone had stopped me when entering Lotus Road for the Norwich game and told me by mid January we'd be 1 point and one position behind them. I would have thought they were mad. |

Agreed, wasn't there also a player in training videos and known to have been signed for weeks before there was an announcement? How can all of the following be true: “This season we’ve had the most contact injuries the club has had in a single season for five seasons” “League comparison from the latest EFL report says we’re 13th for muscular injuries in the league, midtable in terms of injuries” Says the recent injury updates are only because we’ve got injuries to update on, previously “we didn’t have any injuries”. Are we just supposed to forget en-masse the months at the start of the season where players we were expecting to be back weren't then on team sheets and no information was forthcoming from the club. Appreciate that he's improving the communication and some of the updates are quite interesting and moving in the right direction in some areas if true. But when he's clearly telling lies in some areas (Injuries/Contracts), why should we trust his comments on the other items? Personally I think that telling lies so blatantly and expecting us not to be able to spot them shows a level of contempt for us as fans. |

If Colback is out of contract in the summer I would take him as the replacement experienced head in midfield. Assume we'd need Colbacks wages off the books first. |

Handball was unintentional, which apparently doesn't matter but it also caused the ball to fly up when it might have been easier if it hadn't. As for a foul on the defender, I didn't think so, but you do expect the ref to favour the defender. He was consistent on that allowing Morris to hold down Dunne when heading at the back post, luckily Nardi saved. |

I thought some of the comments about Edwards post match were a bit much. Gaz and Jamie saying he's proven his a top manager because he got them promoted. But that was mainly Nathan Jones who built that team. They used to be really hard to beat but under Edwards they seem to have got a lot easier to play against. I think they did at least point out that even though the stats for the game were even, Luton only looked dangerous from set pieces. Given the squad at their disposal, that's quite poor. |

Yeah I thought that too, read the situation well I think. Would have liked him to score one of those chances. He put in a lot of hard work and think his decision making was good with the chances he had, just execution was off. |
 | Forum Reply | Rs Vs Lootown Hatters Match Thread at 10:32 6 Jan 2025
It's definitely going to be a difficult game. I'd possibly go with Ashby, Dunne, Edwards and Paal at the back, then if necessary bring on Fox and JCS to rest Dunne and Paal. Don't want to overdo Fox or JCS given their injury issues. I would imagine that Smyth is knackered given his work rate and number of games but if he's good to go tonight I'd keep him in. Same for Morgan. |
 | Forum Reply | Hoops vs Hornets Match Thread at 13:34 1 Jan 2025
I think chair is still getting up to speed but flashes of the old player coming through. My main concern was that he seems to drift inside and leave Paal isolated 2-1 sometimes. Saito may off more protection down the left. I think Frey has been good and having Kolli to come on if/when he tires is a bonus. Perhaps biased but I think the free kick was probably just about right. As you say 6 of one half a dozen of the other when challenging for the ball, their player has his shirt the whole time. Then when the ball then passes behind, their player stops Frey illegally. |
 | Forum Reply | Marti (still) 'very happy' with his squad at 12:20 27 Dec 2024
What exactly do you expect him to say? You've brought it up before and when I've said that he can't really say anything else when he has to manage them and you accused him of lying but you're happy to accept spin from Nourry: "I read his address and found it well-written, informative and reasonably reflective while maintaining the mostly positive 'spin' one would expect from any official statement of this kind" So what exactly do you expect a manager to say about a squad he's going to have to work with. You also don't like him alluding to things regarding injuries but again if you're speaking publicly it's best to keep the details in house. |

Imagine both fox and JCS will struggle. I can see field dropping in to CB and Madsen will come on with Morgan dropping back next to Varane. Also Ashby as you say coming on to RB and Dunne going into CB. Bit of a mess. |

Not sure what to make of this. On the one hand it's positive that he listens to fans and adapts his approach. But it's still concerning that he needs simple stuff pointing out in the first place. Not sure what other situation that would be tolerated. He's defended his position on the LB situation and it's essentially - we thought a LB who was injured most of last season and a 35 year old CM would be sufficient. Not sure which one of those two could cope with Ben Doaks pace. On the face of it, looks like a poor plan that inevitably went wrong and he still seems in denial of that. I still think he needs a DoF alongside him if this is going to work. |
