I know, I know, but people like Cook, Colback, Dunne, Frey and then at the other end of the scale Morgan (who they released) know what it takes to win football games. Hard, nasty bstrd stuff, running, heading. It’s been the story of our turnaround and Spurs need a similar lesson. |

Even at 2-0 there was a goal there for them, as shown when Son hit the bar, but their whole approach to everything they did in that game was defeatist, half arsed… What’s your plan? If it’s to sit in and go deep tight and narrow then I get that in those circs. It does however run contrary to the manager’s famed ideals. So you’re here for a second goal then? Okay. Good. Go get one. They did the worst of both worlds. They were wide open defensively as we expect, but when they did have the chance to go forwards they turned it down. There were a couple of reasonable counter attacks in the first half with men in support and Liverpool short handed where they ended up three passes and 10 seconds later back with their own goalkeeper. What happened to “pass fcking forwards mate”? Richarlison deciding he’d had enough was brilliant. An injury? To Richarlison? Right out of left field that one. Can’t believe it. Makes JCS look like Captain Scarlett that bloke. Look the manager is clearly not the issue at Tottenham. Their recruitment and retainment is hilarious. But fck me they’re chaotic on the pitch. Ipswich and Leicester both won there this season. The players get a free pass in a lot of this Levy v Ange stuff as well. Soft as muck. Not a winning mentality between them. Even with our cup record I reckon we’d give em a good going over at this point.

I mean our whole back four is out of contract this summer as it stands so they’ve got a lot on but certainly a recruitment priority this summer is PACE! They haven’t had it properly since BOS. It says something that in this land of the bald Paul Smyth has three hairs. |

Tbh I don’t mind this one moving. We’ve dodged 6 Nations Crown & Sceptre wnkers every round this year apart from this one. |

Hmmmm. I remember this last time. It quickly becomes a right arse-ache. |

A real fairy tale story. A city that has been starved. A people who have longed. A cathedral in the sky. Bereft of hope. Deprived of vision. Until there was nothing left, and 60,000 people who'd definitely been there every week without fail forever started to ebb and flow away like the sands of time passing by this once proud football club. What if these people could live again? Asked Crown Prince Bashar Mun Princeton, mopping the sweat from his furrowed brow from a hard day's work beheading journalists and castrating the gays. Imagine the soft power and bottom line opportunities from bringing the Geordie nation a glorious League Cup. Today is the culmination of that hard work, perseverance, and grotesque overspend. A true underdog story. Humble MEME FC, meanwhile, left to reflect on another season in which they won at social media, but finished with exactly the same amount of silver wear as Morecambe. Perhaps another humble mural of the humble set piece coach might help? (Please let it be a Newcastle Spurs final, watching those two fcktastrophes fight over their first trophy for a collective 800 years will be absolutely amazing).

With Dunne the king of the castle and Ilias Chair playing at ten I am stunned we haven't had ParkRoyal riding in here like King Julien in Madagascar. |

Nourry and others have made the point over the past few months that one of their learnings from the first half of the season was when they were unlucky with contact injuries (you may not agree they were unlucky, but let's go with it for now...) they then exacerbated the situation by rushing those players back (JCS at Burnley) which then caused a whole glut of muscle injuries. That may just be an excuse to cover up why their super duper Dubai-based "performance team" is suddenly overseeing a glut of muscle injuries, but if we take them at their word they're probably trying to be more careful with the likes of Morrison and our squad, unfortunately, requires loans to cover that. In time you'd hope there's 5-6 Morgan types in the development squad to slide in there. I can see why they did Edwards. Cook and Morrison looked long term at that point. The South Korean I'm less sure of the purpose. It's the position in the field we've got the most cover in. Rayan Kolli should not be an unused sub while he's getting minutes, sorry it just shouldn't be happening. |

Dog in the playground syndrome. They're all detailed to pick a man up, suddenly a centre back is marauding towards with them with the ball. Chaos. |

He was very useful at beating their press last night because he was able to commit and beat a couple of players himself, which then draws others across and opens up space, often to free Paal down the left. That's often been a problem for us, passing around the back in front of teams. When you have a defender who can step out on the ball like that it's transformative to our style - it's why we were so much better with JCS and Morrison playing. |

Very pleased with that against a team we struggle with. Bar the first ten of the second half we were much the better side. Really should have scored more than one in the first half which made it more nervy than it needed to be. Edwards absolute class. Chair a big improvement at ten. Frey leading the line superbly. Get in. Well done Rangers. |

Always slightly concerned when we open the midfield up with a 2 rather than a 3 after the start of the season. Madsen appears to have finally been finished off by his Hull cameo. |
