I love Jimmy Dunne and he's important to us, and really useful as a right back and at set pieces, but I don't want him anywhere near the middle of the team! Don't rate him as a centreback at all. If that's what Chris Wilder wants him for then he hasn't done his research.
If I was Nourry: Jimmy, we'd love you to stay. The fans love you. Marti loves you. You're so important to us. This is what we can afford to offer you to extend for another couple years and keep this love affair going. Happy to put a £3m clause in for summer 2026 if you want and a £2m relegation release clause to protect you against the worst (and a promotion pay rise).
If you want to take more money elsewhere then by all means do and at your stage of career I respect that. But please help us out by doing it now rather than in the summer so we can get a fee and use it to try and find a replacement.
This is all about Dunne, if he wants to stay, that's great, sign, if not, sell him for as much as we can and include first refusal on a loan at capped wages, as you can be sure that if they go up, he won't feature, so he can come back if we needed him.
Will be a shame to see him go, but a simple decision of sign or sell

Yeah agree with this, I hope he stays but it's a good opportunity for him and good money for us so can see it happening
If Dunne is sold I'll be really shocked as it will mean Football League World have actually broken a story that wasn't bullsh@t for the first time ever!
QPR need to drag this out as long as they can to get as much money as possible if it is going to happen
I agree with this, I also wonder if they're trying to land him for buttons as a short term fix, and if they don't get him for £500k for example they'll go elsewhere for a longer term option...Tanganga for example, he can play CB or RB, he's young and has the potential to play in the Prem. Would be a lot more than JD, but they have the money.

They're also meant to be keen on Harry Darling at Swansea.
The problem since the begining of time/ transfers is once an offer comes in and is rejected it ends up effecting the player and not in a good way .Jimmy is now torn between the club and fans who love him and his chance to play in the PL as SU are almost certain to go up.Plus his financial future is going to change massivly I suspect and he gets to play alongside the ROI defender Egan which would improve his chances of a call up as well. I have a nagging feeling he is going but we will know tomorrow when the QPR team is announced. Either way its all about his future and family and with the rough month he just had with his Father passing on I respect his decision either way

John Egan's at Burnley now, Bannerman.
"The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference."
Its annoying that as soon as we finally address our long neglected LB area with the impending arrival of Vale, that we then suddenly look weak at RB if Jimmy goes! Typical. But we have to take the cash if he's not signing a new deal. We cant afford not to.
