I'm not convinced that had we 3 league games instead this week, and the same injury situation, we wouldn't have made similar changes tonight. And even if we had played with the same lineup twice, there would have been an even bigger number of changes for the weekend game, not counting any forced by injuries or suspensions occuring in the midweek game. |

Our changes were forced by injury. We didn't even have the option to give Cook and JCS half each half of each of these games. Cook's going to have to play 270 minutes this week. We were not just resting players for the sake of it. Fact is we were trying to win the game. We will also try to beat Millwall and hope that we have enough players fit and full of energy for it. I enjoyed what I saw tonight. Take Eze out of that Palace side and we might have had a decent chance. Put either one of JCS and Chair in for us and we definitely would. Even as it was we were a lucky deflection for Eze and a very close late miss from Lloyd away from a much better result. As for Celar, he worked hard, linked up with the midfielders, used his strength, and up against a Euro 24 finalist among a very solid Palace back line. I have no complaints at all. I'll take this over losing to Keith Stroud any day. Before the game when I saw the teams I was expecting us to get hammered. |

There are loads of laws I would like to introduce. Some for match rules, and some for how clubs and competitions should be run. But if I'm just picking one, I would replace bookings for anything that wasn't a foul (timewasting, dissent, lifting your shirt while all the cameras are on you so the sponsor isn't clearly visible, etc.) with a free kick. If a free kick has been given to your team at the time, it gets reversed. If one has already been given to the opposition, the referee allows them to move the ball up to ten yards in any direction, and then 30 seconds gets added to the stoppage time count. The reason for this is that sendings off can ruin games, which makes referees reluctant to give out too many yellow cards, and you end up with terrible inconstistency. Sometimes in the same game one player will get sent off for two silly things, while another will commit a horrible foul, and then be allowed to waste time because the referee doesn't want to send off another player. Free kicks on the other hand get given all the time without affecting what happens five minutes later very much, and yet are also highly effective deterrents. As I say there are loads, some just as important to me as this one, but since I have to pick one, this is it. |

Figured out there was no god before leaving primary school. But I find meaning in life everywhere. I feel sorry for people who don't accept any meaning that doesn't come from something supernatural. |

If I'm the Premier League I'd be saying fine, the charges could not have been brought then, therefore they can be disregarded as if they were never brought. Since they have in effect yet to be brought, we'll bring them for the first time now, on today's date, while Leicester are a full member of the Premier League in every sense. |

What we do need is to have a least one striker fully fit for each game. There's going to come a point where Frey and Celar are both unavailable for a few games in a row. I like Lloyd and Kolli, but they would be equivalent to Armstrong at best and we don't want to put that much pressure on them all of a sudden. |
| Forum Reply | Old Boys hooked at 12:55 1 Sep 2024
I think since we're all giving Celar a chance, the Wurzels should extend the same courtesy to Armstrong. It's only fair, especially as he is still relatively inexperienced. No surprise with Willock. They've got the Willock of last season, not the one from two years prior, and perhaps he is not playing in a team that he's capable of carrying. As for Richards, seems we'll get no more than the minimum we would have hoped for with this loan, one year closer to the end of his contract at least some of his wages paid by someone else. But for all of the above, we've barely started the season. Even 2 months from now things could look very different, never mind by April. |

Look at this Jack. This is you if you don't change your ways now. |

I don't see how he can be judged for getting booked twice until we know what the yellow cards were for. Sinton seemed to have a good idea of what happened for the first booking and appraised him accordingly, but even he had no idea what the second one was for and so held back from commenting on Colback's part in it. I find it frustrating that a fair few fans on here and on twitter are eager to write him off, insisting he never for us again, etc. but are choosing to keep the reason for the second booking a secret. Or could it be that they don't know what they're talking about? |

Very fair assessment of the team, though I've feel you've been extremely kind to the ref, whose apparent determination to disrupt the game as much as possible was mitigated only by the Baggies being far more interested in playing football than attempting to break legs or waste time. |

I'm sure there'll be a 2 and a 7 by September. Strikers can wear 2, can't they. 😁 |

I think everything that needs to be said has probably been said, but for some reason the thought of this thread being hurried out of everyone's consciousness by the conscious effort of one individual, rather than being allowed to disappear organically, bothers me somewhat. |

Looking at the fixtures, we have a 3pm Saturday game against Leeds before Christmas. How is that possible? |
| Forum Reply | Championship Superbru League at 15:37 8 Aug 2024
Yep, gaffr is your standard format fantasy football using championship squads. There's also a new official EFL fantasy game that uses players from all three divisions, has just 7 players per team and lets you pick a new team from scratch each week. The post on the offish announcing its lajnch is still pretty easy to find as it wasn't that long ago. |

Logic has nothing to do with it. I thought that would be obvious. |

It might be that black people have a valid reason to distinguish between whatever words accurately describe Rayan Kolli and the racial category known as black. If they choose to offer an explanation of that reason, then the least we can do is listen. But, naive as it may be, I can't help feeling that telling someone who already gets a lot of people pointing out to him that he isn't white, also isn't black, isn't exactly the most constructive choice one can make. That said, I could, should and will apply the same reasoning and lead myself to the conclusion that we can just easily treat Kolli like a white person, not least of all because we should be treating everyone the fûcking same anyway. |
| Forum Reply | Kolli online abuse at 17:59 7 Aug 2024
Clearly whoever it is, whether he believes he's a QPR fan, or whether the whole aim is to be a troll, he is clearly brainless. Kolli's father is right to speak out, and we could and should offer support. But as for the twunt in question, best thing we can do is ignore him. |
| Forum Reply | Season Ticket resale at 14:15 7 Aug 2024
I would hope that your seat would be indistinguishable from others available in the same section, so while you couldn't offer a discount to ensure that it goes first, it would have as much chance as any other. What this at least means is that seats cannot be marked up to prices that only Leeds fans would be willing to pay, just to sit among us and cause trouble. Also I suspect Ticketmaster will take a big chunk of the 25% rather than let the club have it. Still, I hope that the few home games I miss early in the season will pay for one or two of my away trips later on. [Post edited 7 Aug 14:21]
