Stoke the latest team desperately trying to join the bottom of the table ordure. Increasingly feels like we're the bloke who threw the first punch in a pub brawl, swiftly exited and are now watching from the safety of across the road while the entire pub beats seven bells out of each other. |

Criticising performances and mistakes is all fair game, but the character assassination pile-on and personal abuse is really over the top and unsavoury. He isn't Joey Barton or John Terry, he's just a young, inexperienced player trying to navigate the reality of playing competitive football. |

Can we really say we would have drawn Man Utd? I don't know how the draw numbers for the fourth round are allocated except it's not by alphabetical order as in the third round and the competition doesn't have a pre-ordained draw like the World Cup. But even if we did have the same number as Leicester, once you've changed one thing in an imaginary alternative universe, why wouldn't everything else also change? |

There was undeniably a strident narrative that changing the team for the cup game was a disastrous error and that losing it would undoubtedly mean losing the subsequent league games because that's what always happens, or the light version, which is the argument that changing the team is pointless because we never win the subsequent games (even though a quick look at the stats trashes both versions). If you were arguing that cause and effect, then you should now be applauding Marti for changing the team and losing the game because it led directly to winning the two subsequent games. Naturally, no one has done so. Personally I'm not at all convinced there's evidence for this cause and effect, but that's just being guided by boring facts. |

The under the radar thing is a bit of a myth, isn't it? This isn't the SPL, all the managers and players know there's no room for complacency and that you can lose against any team in this division if you're not prepared and on your game. It's also a myth that we do better against better teams. It's counter-intuitive for a very good reason, that reason being that generally it's not the case. What happens is that we better remember the games that go against expectations. This season we've got three points in six games vs the top 6 and if you do the stats for any meaningful sample, they will tell you that on the whole we get more points against lower teams than higher teams, season in, season out. |

We'll be 10th or 11th tomorrow. Those next six games all look winnable to me, but realistically we'll lose to the first team that's on its game. These runs (winning and losing) happen in the Championship all the time - Oxford's record over the last eight games is the same as ours while Blackburn have won one and lost five. |

Four wins in a row, the last two of which away and a major point of conversation is digging out the two late subs. We're a strange fanbase. |

I hope Frey scores a bundle and doesn't end up with herpes or indeed any illness, injury or incapacitation. |

I couldn't help checking because I'm a bit of a facts-based weirdo like that, and Bannan came on in the 67th minute in the FA Cup game, which I think counts as a rest. |
