We did - when we beat Watford. |

And another thing.....we've scored in all of GA's 4 matches. All we need is one!! |

This thread is so depressing - understandably. So here's the dribble of good news. We're still 7 points clear of third from bottom Blackpool. They're 2-1 down at home to Coventry. If only we could just get a point!!! |

What does a win feel like? Bloody great. What a performance from everyone. And with all 5 teams below us losing - what a weekend. Add Reading losing as well - and if they are deducted 6 points then they go below us. If we can repeat that battling form again - then surely we'll get something at Blackpool on Tuesday night. Confidence must be surely sky-high. Well done GA and all. |

Very little possession in this half. Desperately clearing. Must get control otherwise it's not going to be good. Jojo on for Tim. Maybe that will give us the control we need. |

On the first 45 - we are battling like we haven't seen for ages. Regardless of the result this is what we want to see under GA. So many outstanding individuals with Field the pick. Ossie is playing his best game for us so far - remember he's out of position in the LB role and Drewe - so impressive. Tim - a wonder goal and everyone up for the fight. Strong tackling, closing down space, lots of verbals from our team - unusual - and everyone encouraging everyone else. It seems we are playing a back 5 with Drewe and Kakay motoring down the flanks with their speed. And with the bottom 3 not doing well - Blackpool lost, Wigan 10 men losing 1-0 at Burnley and Huddersfield 1-0 down at West Brom - it 's been a good start to Saturday afternoon. If only we can win this one - the belief will be huge with Blackpool awaiting away on Tuesday. Best performance so far since October. |

At least we are trying - that's something - a big improvement on recent weeks. We can still get a point at least from this one. Rotherham are a poor team as we are. Drewe on his debut has done reasonably well. You realise how good Willock and Chair are when they are at their best. Hopefully they'll be back - at least Chair - with several games still to go. |

We have almost a first team out injured. Dykes, Willock, Richards, Roberts, Balogun, JCS, now Chair and Laird. Have I left anyone out? |

I know this is early days but this is a much better performance from us for months. Closing down the opposition, lots of energy and Kakay going forward has been outstanding. |

That's fair Logman. But if there are only 7 first team players left giving to the cause - then we can ditch the rest who can't be bothered - and bring in the kids. All we want - as QPR fans - is 11 players plus the bench giving it their very best. If that happens against Blackburn - regardless of the result - then that would be a massive turnaround almost since last October. |

After that interview - can I play? I will be Messi and Ronaldo all in one. Seriously - that inspiration is just what we need now. |

What a guy. There's no doubting his passion for our club. Certainly after watching his interview with us and his two goodbyes to the Wycombe players/staff and also his goodbye with Richard Dobson on the WW twitter - well it was quite emotional. None of us know what is going to happen over the next 13 games - but one thing we do know - if his passion does not have some affect on our players - then nothing will. So two things. If we go down then there's a big clear-out. If we stay up then some of our players might survive - especially Seny, Dunne, Dickie (he needs a confidence boost), Paal, Field, Chair and yes Kakay (he gives his all for the club). Dykes may also benefit. We need players who can play 30+ games a year. But one thing is for certain and I'm sure it will happen - GA stays regardless. |
| Forum Thread | QPR - Are there any positives? at 17:24 18 Feb 2023
Let's be frank about this. Our team is a League 1 side - as I mentioned in last week's match thread and which Clive also said in his match preview. In fact not only was Clive's emotional piece so accurate but it was laden with solid facts about our team. I think it would be good to re-read that article. So for years we've punched above our weight almost defying the logistics of a poor stadium, FFP, and no player development. But what we saw against a very good Middlesbrough side was - for the first time in many matches - a desire from most of the players. And they kept trying throughout the match instead of 'downing tools' in recent games. If - and I know it is a big if - if we can show that determination against lesser sides on our run-in then we can survive relegation. Yes our defence is poor and we have little goal threat. So as many have said - as Warbs did to great effect - three centre-backs if we have enough fit - with Kakay and Paal as wing backs. Surely that's the only way we can score. And if we combine that with our effort - shown at Middlesbrough - then we can survive. We have an 8-point start on the bottom 3 but have played one more game. Also let's not underestimate that we have so many players injured or not interested. That's why players like Dunne, Field, Seny, Chair and Kakay along with Dickie (hopefully he can come back to form) and Paal, are now so important to us. Just look at that bench today - we're well short of Championship class. But those who want to play for us and give everything as above then we can survive this mess. [Post edited 18 Feb 2023 17:29]

Let's be fair here. I know it's only HT but this is so much better than we could have dreamed. The performance overall is that our team is trying. And that's all we ask. The question is can they repeat what they've done in the first half? |

You're also right. It is Critchley's problem. And I would ask him if I was at his press conference or interviewing him. But the point is can anyone replace Critchley and keep us in the Championship with 14 games left. As many have pointed out who would want the job anyway and who could do some miracle work in such a short time. It's unlikely but you never know. As said in my earlier thread to which you replied - we have hope and that's cos we're 10 points clear although we have played two more games than the three at the bottom. And on that basis if Critchley keeps us up - then great. If not then the summer is going to be interesting with Critchley building his own squad whether we are in the Championship or League 1. Remember Warbs did a turnover of two squads to cut the wage bill. The one thing that you and all of us can agree on is - it's a bloody mess. |
