Well we warned everyone that we needed a goalkeeper in and exactly as predicted MaCarthy did as we said he would.
He is an accident waiting to happen. To bad because the boys really put in a great display,on this showing MaCarthy aside we can look forward to some decent results. But please get in a goalkeeper before it’s to late as this has been obvious for quite a while.COYR

If someone kept slapping themself in the face, time after time you would say they were mad, well we've been enduring self inflicted pain for several seasons now, because we have the inability to buy a decent keeper. They are relatively cheap compared with outfield players so there is no excuse.
Overall we played well, but until we get a decent keeper it'll be like playing with 10 men.

Well that was almost predictable- suspected a closer run thing than most of the so called experts predicted, but guaranteed to have a defensive slip up to rue. McCarthy isn’t good enough alas.

No one needs to tell AM that his goof cost us at least a point 30000 fans have seen it for a long time
That aside our performance overall was pretty good It was them hanging on not us It's the age old problem of putting your chances away.

Great to see I Would back, his cheery outlook has been sorely missed!

I was expecting a proper beating, so the fact that we dominated and looked good against one of the super rich teams was actually encouraging. Ultimately of course it was disappointing, but some encouragement for the future.

Sugarara looked good - dont know why he got taken off.

Not keen on theatrics but Diaz will become a cult hero I reckon

Dibbling and Amo looked good when they came on, not so Archer.

THB, FD and KWP as we all thought easily Prem quality.

Also as we all thought Macarthy not Prem quality.

Lot of positives to take away. Playing style looks ok. Sugawara looks good, Flynn,THB and Bednarek look solid. Aribo and Smallbone good at settling it down and making a short pass. BBD looks aa bit of a character.

We were on top for most of the game- 77% possession- but inability to convert and a dumb error let us down. Play like that and points will come.

Great start COYR

How the hell didn't we get a result, I know McCarthy blunders again. When will RM realise what every fan knows that he just isn't good enough & will cost us a shed load of points trying to play out from the back. Get another keeper in ASAP.

The board needs to support RM with the correct tools to do the job they ask him to do. A decent GK has been needed for at least 2 seasons.

Rather than splash large money on a 3rd choice striker sports republic need to stump up for a decent GK or RM needs to show the flexibility he showed in the last few games of last season.

Three things strike me about this game. Two I already knew (McCarthy useless at playing out, attack unlikely to score many) but the one I didn't know was a pleasant surprise: we looked alright, even good at times. The key now is that RM accepts the truth - at least one point was thrown away in that game by a simple fact (McCarthy) that we all know about and he seems to be in denial about. If he is not willing to LEARN then we go down. Full stop. If he does adapt there are hopeful signs. Even with us not scoring that should have been an excellent 0-0. Every point is vital. Come on RM - stubborn is sometimes good but NOT over this...

It very much reminded me on some of our games in the Champ last season.
Play quite well, have most of the possession and most of the chances.
Gift the opposition a goal.
Chase the game, but lack a cutting edge, throw on loads of subs and hope, but still play the same predictable, easy to defend against way, with nobody willing to step up and take responsibility in the game.

We should have been stretching them and tiring them out, not letting them score with their only shot on target. The sending off made us complacent and we thought we would win just because we had the man advantage.
I seem to recall something like that happening at Spurs about 4 or 5 years back. 1-1 and they had a man sent off, yet went on to win the game 2-1.

Very much a wasted chance to get a point or 3 on the board.
