Felt kinda sorry for him today he had a nightmare but was left constantly exposed.

AND WHEN I DREAM , I DREAM ABOUT YOU AND WHEN I SCREAM I SCREAM ABOUT YOU!!!!!

He was terrible and he does those sort of errors most weeks but thankfully we haven't been punished

Hopefully he won't play again after that as it was far worse than Kakay at Millwall last season

He wont be getting a game for Newcastle any time soon .
Sadly has a mistake him pretty much every single game. Still
Young so lots of room for improvement

I think and hope so, Paddy. He had a bad and naive game against Premiership players today. Let’s not coat the lad.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

He's 23 so I wouldn't class him as young

Mid 50s is young to me . I want him to do well . He was up against quality attackers today .
You get away with it in the championship but against players like that , he will struggle.

Send him back FFS
Awful player , we may as well play Santos at least we own him

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Please let’s call a spade a spade. He was worse than woeful.
Marti is quite rightly brutal when he needs to be. See Kakay, Dozzel, Dykes etc. He will never play for us again. He was shocking.
He personally gave away three goals.
1. Tried to beat his man one-on-one when he was the last line of defence. Lost it. They ran through and scored
2. Saito didn’t stop or bring down his man, but then passed him on to Ashby. He was flat footed and lost him. They scored.
3. Then he gives away a stupid pen. Vardy scored.
You can’t defend that performance.
He isn’t young. West Ham let him go. Newcastle loaned him out. Both clubs can see he won’t make the grade.
Send him back and get some decent right back cover.

Overreaction. He's played his part in recent wins. Made some good blocks and has showed that he's committed. Admittedly he's not great but some people are going OTT with the criticism of a young player who we're likely not paying a great deal. He's fine as back up for now. New full backs on each side needed for next season. Santos is definitely not the answer.

I think Saito deserves almost as much flak as Ashby today. True, he didn't directly give away any goals, but (i) offered him no protection and (ii) did next to nada going forwards.

Poll: What's your view of today's F A Cup exit?

This is why I rarely come on here when we lose, too many appear to revel in slating the players.

Talking about Ashby Is pointless, you lose 6-2 and the whole goddam lot of them from the Manager down need a good rollocking.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

He not young. He was born in Nov 2001. That makes him 23 doesn’t it?
That is peak age for a pro footballer.

He is not a kid.

He is no good, send him back. Lose games for someone not us.

Didn't mean to upvote but he is not a very good player. However, Santos is worse imo and was bought for the Development squad. Jimmy seems our best option hence the acquiring of Edwards.

Clearly today was awful but as cover he’s improving (not great but not a disaster in recent games). Not in our best XI but he’s a big step up from Santos.

He was that fault for 2 of those ( 2nd & 3rd goal ) and gave away pen straight after HT

He was a massive reason why we lost today

I’d actually rather have Kakay at right back than Ashby.

He played in recent wins over Watford and Luton. Are you saying he played no part in those wins? Mad overreaction from so many. I could understand it if we were in the middle of a terrible run but we've been doing so well. Why so much negativity?

Not strong enough reaction IMO, Ashby cost us today and has all season and will continue unless he is sent back home .
We were level today and really should have been ahead with the natives getting restless until he fcuked up .Trying to dribble past top players with zero cover behind was stupid and he got caught as he has done multiple times this season resulting in another gift goal.
We got a gift ourself to keep it close but then he delivered for Leicester again and that was that

Strikes me as a player who thinks he is better than he is. Poor loan.

Ashby. on 17:33 - Jan 11 with 2325 viewstheone_theonly

Don’t get me wrong Ashby was woeful today, but we only signed him because the other right back we signed in the summer turned out to be completely and utterly useless. Remember how bad Santos was against Ben Doak a few months ago? Imagine him against Mavididi. He would have been absolutely skinned alive today, there’s a reason we haven’t seen him in 3 months.

Of course, Dunne should have started today but Mavididi is a Premier League level winger so it would probably have only been marginally better.

Similar opinion of him from Swansea fans. The thing is that unlike Varane for instance he doesn't seem to learn and develop.

Hardly
He has been largely poor this season bar about 3 games , another one these lads who thinks he is the dogs bollox

Definitely a bit of that. I get 'Tyler Roberts' and 'Ethan Laird' vibes from him in. PL academy history, comes across as arrogant rather than confident.

For the record, West Ham wanted to keep him, he ran his contract down and signed for Newcastle. No doubt for the money.

He makes those sort of mistakes regularly, but is not punished, today against PL opposition he was.
