Saints Will Play Vitesse Friday, 17th Jul 2015 12:16 Saints have been handed a tie against in the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa league as we begin our first European campaign in 12 years.
After a draw that was so mind numbingly boring it made me think that qualifying was too much trouble, Saints were drawn with Vitesse with the first match being played at home.
This is probably the hardest match we could have received in the group although from the point of view of travelling the easiest.

If we get through lets hope our luck in draws gets better than this round. Effectively playing the strongest team we could get and at home first (think away would have been better). On the up side the management should know a fair bit about them, and as you say a nice trip (depending on result of course!!!). Think ROKO managed Vitesse early on assume this is known as the magic of the cups!!! Anyway the adventure begins!!

We won't underrate them at least. I'm confident we'll rise to the occasion; something I wouldn't be so sure about if we were playing one of the so-called poor teams in the competition

Probably a blessing in disguise. No point spending the entire season getting to a final and then finding you're up against the favourites only to get beaten. Far better to play the favourites early and if we lose, we haven't wasted our time. Or beat them and know that they are out of the way.

SaintPaulVW - superb comment. Loved it although not necessarily your taste in cars! We Brits seem adept at turning defeat into victory so wait for the word "heroic" to get trotted out. Strange too that we are going Dutch yet again. Do you suspect tag Katherina has a cunning plan to join The Erdedivision?

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Tottenham Hotspur Polls |
