Luton have got a couple of decent forwards who have scored more than any of ours, despite their position. Worried the CBs might struggle tonight. Hopeful 1-1. |

Worst by some distance was sitting in front of the tackle at Fulham and the outcome which broke Martyn Busbys leg. To this day when sitting watching Rangers I still have some kind of tic where I instinctively lift my leg off the floor when I see a sliding impact tackle coming in on one of ours. Too many best moments but BZ play off winner and Clive Allen’s winner in the FA cup semi final spring to mind. |

It’s like one long comedy sketch watching the BBC telling us how terrible the snow is. Reporter in Leeds seemed to be inside someone’s garden trying to find something you could at least make a footprint in. Desperately trying to find something to say he then warned that as the temperature rise there’s then the inevitable risk of flooding, somehow, from the inch of snow that has landed. When did everything turn so pathetic. |

If I’d have known that I wouldn’t have included Southend in my top half accumulator |

The ones that stick in my mind were the 0-0 at home to West Ham and the 3-2 win away at West Ham, all within possibly a few weeks of each other at the start of the 1973 season. Really felt that, for the first time, we’d genuinely arrived. |

Varane, Morgan, Field is so much more mobile than any midfield seen here for years. Its nice to have Colback return to fitness but he should only be back up to these lads when required, which will still mean regular games as they’ll be plenty more late onslaughts from the Norwich Watford outfits in this league |

With the amount of injuries we have I doubt anyone will be going out this month. Of the four mentioned in the thread, they’ll all be on the lowest wages and loaning out won’t make any of those better players. As for Walsh, Nardi has been on the deck a few times lately, we don’t want to get caught out if the worse happens. |

Coldest, Villa away Jan 76. The glory days, won 2-0, but didn’t thaw out until somewhere around Euston. Wettest, take your pick from pretty much every winter game walking between Shepherds Bush overground and South Africa Road. |
| Forum Reply | How have things changed so drastically in last ten games at 21:42 1 Jan 2025
Watford had some strong and pacy players and when that has shown up in the recent past, WBA and Boro come to mind, we’ve rolled over. Not so much now. Everyone was pulling their weight today, essential if you want to climb this league. Very hard to pick a MOTM, great performances right across the pitch and made for a very entertaining game. |

So we’re offering him to Werder Bremen but they don’t want him. I do love these non stories. |

One for the LFW glossary. First, none of us fans know this as fact, and second, if the clubs are aware of a mental issue, wouldn’t it be a gross deception to keep passing him onto other clubs? Perhaps I’m being naive but I don’t believe us or Brighton would sink that low, unless you know better? |

Fair point, 5 teams that 10-15 years ago no one would have predicted, so it can be done. Of those five, think three of them having benefited by yo-yoing, Brighton and Brentford seem to have utilised data driven systems to hold their own, which gives some hope. One worrying aspect, I’m struggling to see how any of those sides benefited via players coming through their youth system. Maybe there’s been the odd one here and there but not in any significant quantity. No one expects a Francis, Clement, Gillard, Busby style renaissance these days but the hoovering up of youth talent by the big clubs suggests we may be barking up the wrong tree with our belief over too many years that this is the way forward. |

Was this in the days when the DOF wasn’t responsible for signings? |
| Forum Reply | Injuries at 11:09 30 Dec 2024
Yes, needs looking into. Number of things mentioned above and I also wonder if having to stand up to make a legitimate tackle these days has also something to do with it. Standing tackles are more risky in terms or jarring on impact, which result in more muscle injuries. It’s peculiar but you used to see players coming back from breaks quicker than muscle and hamstring injuries today. Undoubtedly, the schedule has most to do with it. They must barely spend any significant time on the training ground and gym when they’re playing every 3-4 days. Madness. |

Whatever you do, don’t look at the March fixtures. |

Expected Norwich to score 4 and they easily could have done, so it’s admirable that we got a point. Nardi was superb as ever, patched up defence very good, but that last 35 mins and the performance of our midfield thereon was very poor. As an attacking force we are virtually non existent. Enjoyed the game but we are a tough watch. |
