We walked down the aisle to this, still going after 20 years so fingers crossed
First dance was Rainy Night In Soho by The Pogues in honour of our first possibly less than romantic liaison. Don’t recommend that, it’s really really really long
I’ve been wracking my brains all night to think of who Madsen reminded me of and has potential to be like and it’s Sander Berge. Lanky Scandi who gets around the pitch with a great pass on him - every time he played against us he always stood out. Not a tackler
Had a few years in the Champ and now doing well in a good Fulham team
Maybe we need to get a VHS compilation of his highlights on the go
He’s been our main attacking threat in a run of games that put us top of the form table, scored 3, caused chaos, made every corner and long throw a chance to score. I haven’t seen a player that dominant in the air in the attacking sense since Les (and posh Matt Smith)
You could see in today’s game we weren’t hanging corners to the back post where Dunne would win them every time
He’ll be a loss to this team no doubt, it’s a real shame
He’ll leave with my blessing if he does go, not least because “Jimmy Dunne to score / QPR to win” three games in a row got me the funds to pay for Xmas
The timing is rotten and it’s a real shame as it felt like we had a club legend in the making here, he’s been up and down in his time with us but he’s Mr QPR out there these days. We should have had this nailed down 12 months ago, but his form wasn’t great then was it.
He’s 27 and he’s probably got one big move left, you can’t begrudge it.
I love Colin Murray - one of our great broadcasters
He’s been brilliant on the Championship highlights where he actually knew about the teams and fans, Fighting Talk on Radio 5, Countdown, his late night Radio 5 show. He also did a great podcast series called Blood on the Tracks I highly recommend where people talk about their favourite music.
Best of all he immediately resigned from Talksport years ago when Murdoch bought it, saying he’s a Liverpool fan and he couldn’t do it. Don’t see a lot of that these days
Really enjoyed the first half, thought it was the best quality game at Loftus Road for a good while, two well matched teams.
I said at half time I’d barely noticed Barry Bannon was playing which was a pleasant surprise, but they came out for the second half and looked sharper and more up for it, have to say it was a deserved victory. They’re a big physical team alright, apart from that irritating Scottish git, and the big man Smith who came on made a real difference.
Few of our players look tired now, Smyth should probably have been subbed as he was blowing after an hour (understandable).
Thought Paal had another good game aside from the crap free kicks.
Maybe not a bad thing the crazy optimism of this week gets punctured, we’re an improving team but we’re not a great one yet
The Norwich game really hammered this home for me. They were a team that transparently lacked any type of togetherness: moaning at each other and the ref, heads went down easily, individuals trying to do too much. Not surprised we're now above them.
This would be a great idea and well deserved for one of the greatest QPR players I’ve ever seen in the flesh (Les, Paul Parker the other two)
I was at the end of season dinner after promotion and Paddy Kenny got player of the season and Adel was genuinely and in retrospect quite rightly gutted. In fact it was a weirdly moody night all round. Chance to put it right
