Ben Doak - Cifuentes Tactics & Team Set Up
at 18:05 16 Nov 2024

Even when we’ve had fair warning based on previous performances we still tend to give a free rein to the opposition’s most dangerous players.
I’ve lost count of the number of times when we’ve stood back and watched while Barry bloody Bannan has controlled the game against us.

Ben Doak - Cifuentes Tactics & Team Set Up
at 11:33 16 Nov 2024

Having seen Doak on TV playing in a couple of Liverpool Cup games last year I had a pretty good idea what was coming and said to my brother before the game we were going to really have to watch out for this guy. I think he’s a level above the Championship in the same way Kyle Walker was when he played for us all those years ago.
I agree that you would have thought our management might have had some awareness of it as well and set us up a bit better to cope with him.

Is this season written off already?
at 09:26 11 Nov 2024

I don’t think we’re quite done yet and I’ll go to the Stoke game hoping that even with our depleted side we can somehow manage to conjure up a win.
But if we don’t manage to get a couple of wins in the seven games between now and Christmas I think the gap to safety may well have stretched to twelve points or more and from that position it’s hard to believe that we won’t be effectively if not mathematically relegated.

Midfield is ok?
It’s been close to non-existent in a lot of games this season.

By contrast Celtic apparently picked up Matt O’Riley from MK Dons for £1.8 million.
Then transferred to Brighton for about £30 million and scored the winner against Man City yesterday.

London Clubs and those nearby in the last decade on the up !!

Are you desperately trawling for London (ish) clubs that we might still be above Juzzie?
I know I mentioned Wycombe but it was partly because my neighbour is a supporter and it would be rather ironic after the Ainsworth fiasco.

Bonfire of the vanities – Report

Thanks Clive. It’s somehow comforting and morale boosting to have someone put into words what an utterly dispiriting experience that was in such an amusing way and callout the individuals responsible for the absolute sh-tshow.

Last night's attendance
at 07:06 7 Nov 2024

Given our appalling home record over the last few years the loyalty of our home support has been pretty amazing, if not inexplicable.
We’re actually getting better crowds than we were about six or seven years ago when we were actually winning a reasonable number of home games, had a better team and were higher up the table.
A midfield of Freeman, Scowen and Luongo feels like dreamland these days.

Forget about Chelsea, West Ham,Arsenal, Spurs and even Palace, Brentford and Fulham.
This looks like it could be the year that Wycombe change positions with us and disappear over the horizon.
The management of this club since the Warnock promotion has been a sick joke at the expense of the fans.

Not even close. How about £12 million on wages for SWP over 4 years when he wasn’t even good enough to be considered for selection for about three of them.

Nourry should walk.

Nourry won’t walk, he needs to be sacked.
And as far as I am aware the only person who can do that is Ruben, who should admit the enormous error he made in making the appointment and start trying to do something to get us out of this mess.

Just finished watching “The Recruit” on Netflix, which I thought was very good.
Also for those who enjoy Korean series, “Taxi Driver” about a victim support agency with a difference.

I tink my favourite is Jimmy Rabitte saying to a band of extremely White and very bemused Dubliners “say it out loud, I’m Black and I’m proud.”

Neil Warnock’s the man to rescue clubs in relegation difficulty. Although after what he did for us I don’t think I’d wish that sh-tshow on him.
