If we are going to make a change, and it seems inevitable now, it's Moyes for me. I am seeing some rumours that it could be him. No point bringing in an inexperienced wannabe and throwing him in at the deep end. Over to you SR. I won't hold my breath.

| Forum Thread | The Budget at 14:22 30 Oct 2024
An excellent refreshing budget I thought, by a very commanding, professional and credible chancellor. Triple lock kept (rightly so), pensioners protected, billions raised for our crumbling services so badly needed, no increase in fuel duty (right decison), and at last,.an end to criminals going in to my local shop, supermarkets and stealing up to Β£100 without consequence. A start on restoring law and order in this country. Taxes raised for multi billion pound companies to pay their fair share. And 50 per cent increase on those using private jets. Too right. If you can afford to travel at that expense, then give some back to the country (Sorry Rishi). |
| Forum Thread | Why? Why can't people see it's the owners who need removing? at 21:25 23 Oct 2024
Threads titled as astonishing and why is he still here? Do people seriously think that the owners who appointed Jones and Selles, who bought a load of Man City reserves and Villa reserve players for PL failure, all to do it on the cheap, are going to spend tens of millions sacking a manager and then replacing him with a better manager (and if he's better he would want a lot more than RM wanted?). This is the same ownership team that could have appointed Dyche after Ralph, they could have appointed some decent managers instead of Jones and Selles. When is the penny going to drop, that the owners are the problem here? If RM goes, these owners will koto attract a top manager to save us. The team isn't good enough for a start and a top manager would want money to spend on top.players. never going to happen under these owners. |
| Forum Thread | Excellent performance today at 19:24 5 Oct 2024
I was at the game and Saints put in a good shift today. All the Saints fans there were very positive, no.complaints today. Very frustrating that, had we played half as well at Bournemouth as we did today, we would have got a result. We were unlucky. We hit the bar, they had a dubious 2nd goal that could have been offside. We probably scored the goal at the wrong time. Our goal, woke up the beast unfortunately. There were many positives. Archer can score goals, just not penalties it seems. Dibling excellent again. Tall Paul came on and played a blinder. He is a presence, he's strong, he holds the ball up well and he ran and ran. We need to give him a chance. Jan B was immense today. Fernandez is a good player. Ramsdale made some good saves, but I have to say I was little disappointed to see him give his shirt to an Arsenal fan rather than a Saints fan. The Leicester game coming up is absolutely huge. I think RM should be given that game personally, but we have to win it. If we play.like we did today, we probably will, but will we? We shall see. [Post edited 5 Oct 19:40]

Anyone else really disappointed with the atmosphere in the stadium? Even at nil nil, it seemed really quiet, yet we have 7 thousand fans behind the goal. The lack of interaction between the home and away support makes the atmosphere really dull and subdued. The interaction between the old Itchen North and Northam all stood up between a bunch of rowdy away fans made things entertaining in the stands if not on the pitch. The away fans now are right next to a load of quiet Saints fans, who just sit there. It's very calm, quiet and subdued in the stadium and it's certainly not impacting results. | Forum Thread | Should we have spent 25 million on a striker instead? at 17:21 31 Aug 2024
We have spent 25 million on a goalkeeper, which we were all pleased about, including me. But on reflection, and yes in hindsight after another defeat and after Ramsdale has conceded 3 goals, should we have spent 25 million on a striker? Just a thought. |
| Forum Thread | Any UI smokers? at 18:12 29 Aug 2024
Kier Starmer is going to ban smoking and vaping from pub gardens and outside areas, so that will include all those who smoke outside football grounds before the game, at half time and outside. I don't smoke or vape. But this is wrong imo. Does he really think that those who choose to smoke will stop smoking and the NHS won't have to deal with it anymore because of an outside ban? They will just smoke elsewhere, and still be a burden on the NHS. Some of our stewards will love that "Put your fag out or you're out (out in the streets)". [Post edited 29 Aug 18:15]

| Forum Thread | The draw was fixed - Totally corrupt. at 23:12 28 Aug 2024
It was impossible for the top teams to play each other and 4 of them knew they were playing at home before the draw. All something to do with arranging dates for playing in Europe. So the top 6 all play lesser teams, fixed in advance. All the other teams, have no such arrangements to be at home or to be drawn against a lesser team. There should be outrage about this. The game takes place the week beginning 26th doesn't it? I am assuming tickets will start being sold Monday, but no announcement so far. We will likely get a 4000 allocation. I think it could be quite popular if the prices are right. |

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/07/30/southport-attack-live-children-injur All kicking off in Southport and in other parts of the country. This could unfortunately develop. A terrible tragedy, related to Islamist terrorist apparently. Mosques being attacked across the country. Its being kept quiet, but the killer is apparently a Muslim but the lack of information is not helping. National Front far right jumping on the bandwagon. The community wants answers.. | Forum Thread | Season Ticket Bolt On's at 21:08 26 Jul 2024
Can anyone shed any light on what these are. I don't want one, just want to understand why anyone would get one and whether it's fair. It says "Cup and away priority" for silver and gold. What does this mean? Those who have bought bolt on's can get an away ticket before those without bolt on's? So in practice, a fan with a gold bolt on who hasn't been to any away games quite fancies going to Bournemouth away, so gets priority over those who have have been to lots of away games? And if not, what's the point of the bolt on? At the same time, why should someone who has paid a lot more on away games but doesn't have the bolt on, miss out on away tickets? | Forum Thread | Southgate does it again at 21:54 10 Jul 2024
England in the final again. Despite the moans about Southgate, England are in the final. Getting the job done, boring or not is all that matters. And Holland are a great team. Venebles, Hoddle, Keegan only ever got to the semis at best. Boring is best by the looks of it. [Post edited 10 Jul 21:56]

| Forum Thread | Saints sign Wood at 21:40 5 Jul 2024
A Swansea player who has never played PL football? A player from Peterborough from league one to PL. Am I missing something here? Should we not be signing trued and tested PL players? I really think we need a top 40 million pound striker, an experienced defender and a play maker if we are to survive in the brutal PL we are about to face. |
