I'm fearful of using my out-loud voice, but everything post-SLF seems more considered and professional.

Still has to work mind you, but you do feel it's moving forward, and Nourry really has been laying the groundwork with decisions that offer more confidence in delivering above the median line of successful strategic short- and long-term goals.

When you get to a certain age, you dont need to read the papers, and if you do, you can invariably gleen all you need to know from the headline.

So, what a day for the BBC not to publish the front pages of the UK media! Either they didn't want to or forgot, and I suspect the Sun, Mail, and Express are in a tither. But please tell me that none of them have gone wuth a lightbulb and a picture of Starmer (or Sunak) inside telling us: if this man gets in, would the last person out switch the light off.

Good luck GB and for the love of Marti, can the good folk of Clacton tell Oswald Mosley to f..k off once and for all.

God why is it so bloody hard . . . .
at 05:34 4 Jul 2024

Having just gone through the process of handling my mother's affaires after her passing, the phone being answered is one thing, it's what happens or, doesn't happen as the case may be, once you've got through!

To be honest, and loving a good argument with some obnoxious official, I found it helped my grieving process to be engaged with the idiots at BT. A total shower that were unsurpassed in their sheer breathtaking numb-nutsness.

Second up, London Borough of Ealing. On the day I registered her death, I brought her blue badge to hand back. Now I'm in the bloody building and the registrar says he can't handle it or offers to ring the department who can. I then receive a letter asking for it, and one day, as I'm in Ealing, I thought I'd pop it in. Simple, right? After all, I'm going to be outside the same building...no. A palarver, added to by gormless guards, who couldn't find their backsides with a map.

My mum was 90. Her death was coming, and so I'm mentally prepared, and with years of dealing with difficult clients, situations, and officialdom. However, at a time of bereavement I wonder how old people can manage or, say, a young 30-something, losing a spose with kids, a mortgage and job insecurity would.

Upshot: while paying peanuts does get you monkeys, I suspect that those paid more than peanuts to design organisational operating systems, end up handing the monkeys over-complicated procedures that put the client's needs second behind saving money and trying to be clever!!

Its as if the election was called in the middle of Ed's gap year, but he's decided to carry on regardless. Today's stunt is a cameo teaching English to poor kids, before an all night rave on the beach.

Someone tell him he needs to vote as the election is tomorrow, but his diary currently has him down to do the dangerous bike ride from La Paz to Corico.

Speaker - Order, order. The Right Honourable Planet.

PH - Thank you Mr. Speaker:

Between now until the polls open, the right-wing media will be frothing at the mouth, and the front page headlines on Thursday morning will be near hysteria. I ask members: rise above the self-serving interests of foreign tax domiciled media barons!

As someone who tended to vote more conservative, I have found myself cast adrift with the poor offering on all sides of the House. I couldn't vote Cameron for the reason I couldn't vote Blair - never trusted them! However Mr. Speaker, post-Brexit, the Tories have been totally and utterly unelectable in my humble.

Speaker - Order, order...order! Planet.

Planet - We've been lumbered with appalling PMs; rife incompetence and mismanagement; and they've driven a horse and cart through integrity in public office. Repeatedly!

So, simply put: Fck 'em!!

House - Uproar.

Speaker - Orderrrr. Order!

Planet - Thank you Mr.Speaker. The Tories are in need of a good thrashing and to go away and recalibrate themselves into what being a proper political party should mean. That said, and the only concern with a Tory wipeout: the old adage that if you want good government, you need good opposition, springs to mind. As does a simple message to the good people of Clacton: You have one job, and thats to send Oswald Mosley packing!!

House - Hear, hear, hear.

Planet - I've said for ages that Starmer was the most important person in UK politics. For if he provided no meaningful opposition, I think the UK would be in bigger trouble. Come Friday morning, we'll see if he's done enough to earn the most important job and if he has Mr. Speaker, then good luck to him! He'll need it, as he's got a huge job on his hands.

All I know of him is from two people who've met him: one worked under him in the CPS, the other has dealt with him officially, and both spoke highly of him (one of them is not a labour supporter).

As for multimillionaire Sunak: if growing up without satellite telly is perceived to be a great hardship, and leaving the D-Day commeration event early to do a TV interview is deemed ok, then it really is time for change!

House - rousing sounds

Planet - And Mr. Speaker....Mr. Speaker...I commend this speech to the House.

House - Uproar, and someone nutting Rees-Mogg

Outstanding effort!

I was just about to invest my time hunting for info. What have you found/donde estan los chicos?

Could book a table for early supper and when thecwaiter asks where we'd like to take coffee, I can reply, 'Pitchside muchacho!'

Not only that, we're setting off early tomorrow and will walk barefooted while self-fragilating ourselves. It's the only way to teach these f.....s that we mean business this season!

In Marti we trust and whip.

I looked on the FC Girona website, and assuming the Estadio is not an option, there looks to be a couple of possibilities.

Think its a case of chance it and see.

Super Ned's freds are fantastic, Bazza's were atrocious!

The Swiss have looked decent and I'm sure they're delighted and encouraged by the thought of playing England. We will need to be on it from the off.

Absolutely no idea at all!
