Sheffield United Reflection
at 16:45 2 Mar 2025

Thought we missed Smyth from the off on the right yesterday. Saito should have started on the left, Marti needs to persevere with getting Chair in a more central attacking midfield role, especially at home, which is where he feels more comfortable I suspect. Yang should have been an option from the bench and agree on the points about Morrison he should be starting to get match fit and is ours, either give Cook a rest or rotate with Edwards, who I like but is not our player. Varane is much improved from early in the season but his tendency to turn back rather than pass forward is really risky and slows momentum going forward, thought he had overcome this, back again yesterday. Morgan who is a great prospect looked exactly like a player that has been left out for a few weeks and thought he struggled a bit. The main thing I took away from yesterday was we don't convert our chances, better teams like Sheffield United do and that is the difference. Also if we go a goal down feel it is going to be a slog to get back into it.

We can't go down a goal to sides like Sheff Utd, it is then a slog to get back into the game. They won't do much if they get promoted, we need to tighten up our mistakes. Overall we are a decent Championship team but unlikely to challenge for a top 6 with the team we have, still a bit lightweight and have been for a few seasons, but better than last season overall.

Sheff utd only had two chances and they scored, we make far too many mistakes and we deservedly get punished, this is why we languish at mid/ lower table etc. in this league.

The Morgan - Varane - Field midfield
at 19:06 24 Feb 2025

I have sort of given up on Rangers away from home, it's a bonus if we get a win and to be honest quite happy with draws, but always feel if we go behind away from home it is just a slog to try and get back in a game. For me it's all about attacking and winning at home, where we have had most success in recent months is front foot playing to win, rather than trying not to lose, which has led to most of our defeats. Happy to see Chair more central and attacking in a 10 role, shame Morgan has been sacrificed last few games, he has the legs and can play a pass forward. Field can be a frustrating player but is a key component in helping to break up play. Varane can be caught dwelling on the ball too much and turns himself into trouble.

Great report, it was all a very Rangersy away performance, in the charity style we have come to sort of expect. Last 3 away games have almost been a copy of each other.

Richards???
at 19:05 19 Feb 2025

The Taylor Richards debacle, never saw anything of any quality to be honest to suggest a player that was of great potential, for the very few times he had a QPR shirt on. A very sad saga all round, which has cost our club a lot of money that could have no doubt been used on better options, especially with the option to buy clause at the end of the loan period and subsequent contract, which has had the most negative effect.

Celar?
at 20:49 18 Feb 2025

Let's sort of face it we have improved since he has been out of the team. Looking forward to the prospect of Dembele returning in a team now motoring along nicely. Hopefully Celar can get fit and be moved on along with Madsen in the Summer.

Something about a Valentine’s Day massacre – Report

The improvement in form, especially at home has been brilliant in the last 2 months. When I went to Derby in October and watched that insipid performance against a bang average team all looked lost and League 1 was unfortunately looking a distinct possibility. Whether we make a play off place who knows, just pleased that our home form is good and that we are progressing nicely.

Hope we beat Derby tomorrow and continue our trajectory up the table. When we lost to them in October, we were struggling for form and to be honest Derby were not that good and we gifted them 2 goals. Expecting a whole lot more from our lovely Rangers tomorrow.

FL Coventry
at 14:33 12 Feb 2025

It was a game that could have gone either way from two evenly matched teams. Think we are now at a level where we should be, in mid table. Probably suggest that Coventry may be more likely to push for the play offs, but again they sort of look a bit short of the quality needed to make the Prem anyway. I would like us to have a decent run in especially at home and try and finish in the top 10 with a points total above 60 points.

That was a foul on Cook by Thomas. Frey missed a massive chance which he should have buried.

Well done Plymouth, great to see them progress. To beat Liverpool at any level is commendable, even though they did considerably change their line up, they still had top level footballers like Diaz, Chiesa and Nunes on the pitch for the latter stages of the game.

A proper old school centre forward, like his commitment to the cause, roughs up defenders and scores, just right for Championship football.

Great points totally how I see it with the use of Frey, Kolli and Lloyd.
On Madsen had hopes he would improve and there were a couple of signs, but his cloak of invisibility and lack of pace and getting stuck in won't work in this league and is destined most likely back into a European league along with Celar no doubt next season.

Great last night, personally overall felt this was our best home performance of the season so far, we just looked good all over the pitch against a well drilled Blackburn team
