Many thanks Clive for all your wonderful previews and match reports. You have the knack of making me feel involved, motivated to keep the faith, making me laugh out loud over miserable results and making me shed the occasional emotional tear which I have done on three occasions this season.
Thank you Clive for making sure that I will return next season for the next chapter and I now know better than to sit behind you in F block! |

I am genuinely really emotional on receiving this deeply sad news, Ron gave me an extraordinary opportunity to be club photographer when I was 17. I was allowed to serve my apprenticeship for many seasons with the club and I went on to have a wonderful career as a sports photographer. I have so many happy memories of Mr Phillips. He allowed me to play a very small part in the history of my beloved R's.

How old are your children?
I grew up in a house with stuff like this happening over a five year period. The best explanation given was that my sister and I were going through puberty at the same time as my parents were going through a marriage crises.
We all saw the man who appeared regularly wearing a brown checked zoot suit. He would appear whilst friiends were around too.

This famous transparency was brought for £50 off a local photographer working for a small provincial Mexican newspaper. £50 was a small fortune to the snapper. I can only estimate how much the copyright has earned since. Out of all the snappers that were at the match (me included), only this pic shows the incident clearly. The shot wasn't even taken with a motor drive! |

Depression just about destroyed me......I was self harming from the age of 11........I walked away from home at 16............I walked away from my marriage.......I walked away from my 30yr successful career........and became homeless.......my last attempt to end it all was 7 years ago.
I now am a Peer Support and Peer Mentor for a large mental health charity, I give talks to men about reaching out. I am giving a talk at an open prison in Sussex this week on the very subject.
I still live with depression but I have learnt coping strategies, I still have dark thoughts but I am in control. The antidepressants control my panic attacks and help me sleep. I drink hot lemon,ginger and honey every morning to detox.
I am 60 now, I have a new career and I don't feel ashamed anymore and above all I am still here.
My advice Windsor is to reach out and don't be afraid of talking about how and what you are feeling.

Thanks Clive, that was a smashing read which has made me even more excited about the forthcoming season.
I was very interested in MW's thoughts regarding feeder clubs and I wonder wether I will see this happening before I see us moving to a new stadium. |

I covered England home and away from 1980-1998 and I became utterly dissolutioned with the morons that latched onto following the national team abroad, I am still embarrassed by the drunken mindless violence that I had to photograph and the reception I received as a member of the English press corp whilst attending overseas tournaments. |

Many thanks for the memory. That's my b/w photo of Clive Allens winning goal. I left as soon as the goal went in as I had a reasonable snap of Allens celebration in front of the school end but I got a roasting because the papers wanted the images of the mounted police that came onto the pitch at the final whistle especially a bobby mounted on a white horse which I barged passed on my way out of the exit. A pic of the white horse was the one all the papers wanted and not my pic of Allens celebration. |
