This. And everything else you said in this thread to be honest.
I enjoy taking my son to Saints and chatting with him about players - it's the only enjoyment I get now from it as it's a) awful, b) full of youtube divs, c) it's just a circus act. Football as a whole, it's a circus.
TBF Hull is a decent city - I went to Uni there in the 90s. Sure some of it is a little strange and some of the people rough round the edges, but then where isn't??
Sadly, you only need to watch football on Sky to see WHY it is completely sh*t, they're lapping it up and propagating it.
I loved what Postecoglou said yesterdat about it going to sh*t (or similar words) as well. He said that the fans are allowing it to happen and saying nothing. He cited the ref speaking to the crowd and said something like "did anyone enjoy that, did they want that?"
I was watching the match on Sky sports, the commentary team were loving that bit, quote "oh wow this is brilliant, we can hear the ref, just like the NFL, maybe we'll get Taylow Swift" ... I actually turned it off then. But to read what Postecoglou said this morning cheered me up, we need more like him please.
Absolutely sick of what has happened with the sport we all love and it's NOT just Saints, although our team is horrible, that's another issue. But you watch the games, the crowds are sh*t and dead, completely dead, like zombies staring at mobile devices and posing.
Still Sky (and the BBC and ITV) will continue to marvel at how amazing one rendition of you'll never fking walk alone is, which is once in a match while the stadiums are dead the rest of the match.
They'll continue to talk about Taylow Swift and refs with mics.
They'll continue to completely over-analyse fking EVERYTHING.
The fanbase is rubbish across football, but the lame media have fuelled it.
My family has tickets ... but in all honesty am seriously thinking about just watching on TV given the awful sales, awful football and to be honest, my house is warmer anyway.
I enjoyed the middle of the Kingsland last season with the old farts moaning about Charles, Brooks and Rothwell! Good view - I actually watched the football properly.
