The moment I heard GA's name being thrown around I knew we were in trouble. We'd spent the previous years recruiting managers and players to play a certain style and then brought in someone who was the complete antithesis of that, whose name wouldn't even been on any shortlist except for a previous association with the club. It was doomed to fail, as these things always are.
Love the bloke but shouldn't have been anywhere near the managers position. [Post edited 26 Oct 2023 15:32]

I think it proved at the knockout stages of the World Cup, after all the sh*t refs were cut and the good ones were left, it worked pretty well. That's my main worry in this, that the weaker refs will start panicking and use it for things they're not meant to. |

Not missed as such, not in the flesh at least, but I had stay late at work for the 3-2 Liverpool Jamie Mackie man crush match.
Watching on a dodgy as hell stream, Dirk Kuyt makes it 2-0 around 75 minutes, that's my cue to shutdown and go home. I hop on the central line at Shepherds Bush and realise Glenn Roeder is sitting opposite me. Asked him what he thought of that disappointment only for him to tell me that we were 3-2 up! Sat there for the rest of the journey in a weird mix of bewilderment, joy and anger! |

Big fan of the Andover Arms but not on a match day!
Usually Crown and Scepter for a mid week match or The Green on a Saturday purely for convenience rather than it being any good. |
