I don't think he is a 6 to be honest. Arsenal started him there initially but in the latter part of the season Arteta was playing him as an 8.

Sorry LBlock, he only changed that team in 1986 because he was forced to for the most part with Robson dislocating his shoulder and Super Ray getting sent off for his throwing the ball in the direction of the ref brain fart. Granted he did also drop Mark Hateley for being, well, Mark Hateley...

Re Big Jack, you could also say the same with Nobby Stiles. Few football journalists back then would have had him in the England team but Alf Ramsey picked him to do one job, win the ball in midfield and give it to Bobby Charlton which he'd probably seen many times before when playing together for Man Utd.

Agree. The 16 team version was perfect. The logical answer would be 32 teams but with only 53 teams in qualifying that would be ludicrous.

That cretin Infantino is ruining the World Cup format by increasing it to 48 from it's currently perfect 32 team format. I believe that is going to have 12 x groups of 4 with the top two and eight (EIGHT!) best third places qualifying for a last 32.

Agree.

Everyone knows that team we finished with should have been the starting team for this game and if we were going to try a couple of different faces and give a couple a rest, this was the game to do it. They'd have won 2 or 3-0 and would have had a bit of momentum going into the knockouts.

Like for like sub. No attempt at throwing someone attacking on. I reckon Hasselbaink is having more influence than we think. This performance has all the hallmarks of us under him.
