Terrible season 23:49 - Nov 23 with 24193 viewsmarchamjack

10th in the Premier League one place behind Man City. Laudrup out.

Some people on here need to wise up and grow a pair and stop the pathetic moaning ffs. Last few weeks have been embarrassing from some. Only happy when we're not winning. Rant over. Gonna finish my whiskey and go to bed

Talk of relegation shows total lack of any understanding of how good our team is and frankly how poor more than 3 of our rivals are. Fckn muppets.

Oh,..Dave, what's occuring?

What utter rubbish. Simplistically put you are saying that people who disagree with you are harmful to 'your' teams ambitions, and that you are being critical for the good of the team.. ..balls.

Simply put, that's Scouse with better spelling. If you're not criticising you're not supporting or actively harming the club.

Nonsense. But nicely written nonsense.

Its not tricky folks.

We have set high standards, or at least standards to suit the quality of the side and have not matched them for a long time. Some will air concerns, others will vigorously stand by and hope all will be well. Neither is wrong. What is wrong is saying that someone is less of a fan for displaying one of these traits, whîch is the crux of this thread.

If nobody had been critical after the Cardiff game.. the team wouldn't have shown the reaction they have done.

In a comfortable league position, in Europe, with some key players to come back from injury and with a good few difficult games Man Unt, Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal already out of the way at an early stage.

Whatsmore the club continues to progress off the field also. Savour every minute of the greatest ever period in SCFC's history!

Nobody is immune from criticism, its a part of life and its how things evolve. If we accepted everything and didn't strive to be the best we can be then we would be still in Div 3.

It seems some just want to hold onto the "but we are just little old swansea" notion. Well no we arent. We are a side that is built in success, we have big named international players and comfortably have one of the best sets of playing staff outside the top 8 or 9. Expectations are thus set accordingly.

Im afraid no "its okay to be relegation candidates because we weren't very good a decade ago" will cut it. We have a standard to keep to which will keep the club avoiding these relegation situations, we have a solid foot hold now and until our playing squad changes for the worse then we shouldn't let our expectations drop. Lets judge the side on what we have now and not where we were 12 years ago or where we have come from.

That notion is the opposite of everything that has got us here in the first place. We have let the standards drop for a prolonged period of time, recently we have had good signs. Lets keep it up but nit pretend its all been rosy because it hasn't.

Because if that performance was seen as acceptable then isn't this the performance we would get week in week out? Im sure the players knew it wasn't good enough and acted upon it otherwise its just dumb luck we have played well the last 2 games which is a bit worrying.

I don't know mate.. ask Ashley Williams and Huw Jenkins why they were unhappy about the performances we've been showing. You're being critical to the people who have been critical of their own performances and team.

Are you being deliberately obtuse for the second spell on a single thread?

Of the Cardiff performance wasnt criticised by the players themselves thus feeling it is an acceptable level of performance to aim for then how would we play better?

If nobody criticised the performance (be that fans, players. chairman, mangement) and thus realising it was not acceptable then the chances of us significantly improving from there would be slim wouldn't you think?

I meet up for home games with a gang that have been ST holders for 30/40 years. There are those that agree we are not doing as well as we should, considering the amount we have shelled out in the last couple of seasons.
Others are sure we are doing fantastically in both Europe and in the league.
As down to earth football fans , it's the nature of the beast.

And you can argue till your fingerprints disappear, it will not change your run of the mill supporters minds.

I am personally of the opinion that a large number of Swansea fans live in a sort of time bubble where perception lags reality by approximately 2-3 weeks.

I think performances started deteriorating somewhat following the Valencia game, but in my view there were clear reasons for that; large numbers of new personnel, injuries at the heart of defence (Ash & Ben), and so on.

IMO the euphoria of early successes appears to have masked that, but just before the derby game the injury problems in defence cleared up, and there were signs of much better understanding in the team. . . just as widespread despair set in.

I await the next shift in opinion back to euphoria with some trepidation!

So your view wasnt that we are doing ok then?

You were the one with a confrontational tone to a post which turns out to have as much point to it as a Pringles carton. You ask a question and then complain when it gets answered. Sorry that dont fly with me, owner or not.

Yep, done. Same result.

If you think we were doing ok then that is your opinion is it not? So if you ask whether your opinion is correct then you are indeed looking for validation.

What were you saying about arguments and empty rooms? Make a point or stop boring everyone.
