My fault I know but forgot to take my season ticket as I didn't intentionally mean to call there. Went to purchase the new home shirt but was declined discount as no proof of season ticket. Looked on my phone and showed them the email confirmation of proof of purchase, but this was not acceptable. Decided to call over to the ticket office to see if they could help but they have been instructed by the shop manager not to provide proof of purchase to anyone. I wonder why? The club shop missed out on a £50 sale. Whilst in the ticket office I asked about the availability of Man Utd tickets. I fulfilled all the criteria of points etc, but was told on the system that they have they can't show where the remaining seats that are left are situated. I needed this as I appreciate that there are not two seats available together so wanted them as close as possible together. I was advised to purchase online and that's the best they could do. Club lost out on another £90 sale. Why is there such a problem with such simple things? | | | | |

The club should do everything possible to make sales. The key to retail is to separate the customer from their money, as quickly as possible. Sending a customer away with their money when you could make a sale and keep a customer happy is simply poor business. The customer may decide not to buy an additional ticket by the time they get home. I would expect the ticket office should be able to verify a season ticket purchaser based upon proper ID. It's about customer service and keeping your customers happy. Of course, if the customer remembered his season ticket, this entire episode would have been avoided. I think that's a bit steep, I get the fraud angle etc etc, but that's a money making scheme in itself, if you're knowingly going to club shop I guess yes you should always take it, but its not a perfect world people forget shit, but I also think that if you had a credit card, drivers licence etc on you to verify id they can verify you're a season holder with today's modern tech, no matter how busy or empty the shop is those sales are the bread and butter of the club, so to sum up yes you should have had your ticket , but in the instance of you or having it there should be a way round it, I've been in the very same position but at the time just thought balls to it and paid the proper amount, its people like you wanting discount that we missed out on the likes of Lionel messi :-) :-) :-) | |

No, I do, but that could be to my detriment, I live in copper quarter so its literally a 2 minute walk from the stadium so I could leave it in house until needed but I don't like to let the little bugger out of my sight :-) you're right the shop needs to come up to speed, and should be more tolerant in these situations, that goes for the ticketing side too, but on the whole its a good system and relatively good service, like all retailers just needs feedback and tweaking | |
