Pride of Rochdale on 07:16 - May 17 by BigDaveMyCock | Anger? Not at all pal. I, like many Dale fans, are quite looking forward to next season. Started showing promotion form towards the end of last season. Hilly is back and we've got some great young players coming through. He's also made some promising signings - all within the clubs budget you will (not) understand of course. I'm just finding it funny how you come on here like a passenger on the Titanic stupidly repeating the fact that you're on the best boat in the world, far better than our boat because your boat is massive and it's got expensive chandeliers and you really don't care about the water coming and you don't care that you're drowning because your boat is still the best boat. Someone will save you anyway so it's fine and they'll buy some more chandeliers. Come on, you do care, you care massively. Otherwise you wouldn't be on here. Who would you spend your reddies on instead, FCUM? PS Serious question. Do you reckon Bishop has earned, deservedly of course, £1 million from Bury Football Club? [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Fans can not influence how a board runs a club and the joke they have turned BFC into is the final straw for many. Would fail turn away fans when asking for support? We need a new board running the club with a full time CEO overseeing all aspects of day to day running. A lot of backroom staff need moving on. Our commercial side is still in the 80s. Budgets have to be set not to make a loss and if that means fighting to stay in the league year after year like Accy then so be it. As for the reddies, £280 for a season ticket plus away support takes it to at least 1k per year so I would add it to the holiday pot. I usually do a few days in Tenerife with the wife like I did the other week and later in the year do 2 weeks golfing in the US. I would rather have a club but if things do not change I won't miss it. All I want is a club that is run properly, if that means going to non league (I can't switch league clubs like some do) then it would be a decision beetwen Raccy Boro, Rammy United or Prestwich Heys. Bishop prior to 3 years ago kept us in the league with his goals so you coudl argue he was worth it on that basis but I argue that no player plying their trade in L2 should be earning more than £500-£600 a week. He is finished as a footballer (knees are gone) and should not have got a contract extension. Word is he is off to Wrexham which would be great news especially with Healy going as well. do you really believe fans have no influence over a club''s board? It's not like your talking about a board similar to those that vindictively ruined clubs like Brighton, Chester et al. It's a board of predominantly Bury people who's biggest crimes are being out of their depth and hopelessly trying to cling on to their own position. The problem is that fans don't ask questions. Its like the Pompey fans trotting out the old line of "Its not the fans' fault". Well they were happy enough to go along with the Premiership years and the FA Cup Finals. That wasn't their fault either, but they were happy to carry on with their Baldrick mentality during the good times.

How many clubs manage to have as many fans forums as us? The board tell us all is fine and a week later it's leaked that we are in the shit. The fans arranged another forum and invited the chairman, we got told he would attend if we only asked questions about the future and not the past and that no one is to go intent on drinking. The board then put a statement out that they have cancelled the forum until further notice when they didn't even arrange it and were simply guests. The majority shareholder is forever bury so they take the share money and membership with no proper representation because the board don't want the fans to have any say. There are many people offering to lend a hand in different areas. I for one am a Technical Manager (believe it or not) dealing with Professional Indemnity claims so could very easily use contacts with the commercial insurance industry to get a premium at cost and save £1000s. Others have volunteered their time and have not had the decency of a reply. If the board has not thought of the idea, they are not interested. It looks like we may get new owners so hopefully that might all change.

There might be a bit of good in there somewhere. I'm having a bit of fun on here but it is all harmless. Our official board is dead on it's arse and you get banned for anything. Quite looking forward to Dale (not so much the match) because my Dad is still in Royton so we will do an all day drinking session on real ale in the Baum. Splendid way to spend a day. He's never been to Spotland or Boundary Park (he usually refuses point blank) but has agreed to go this time unless you are ripping off the OAP's on admission prices. I might even offer to buy Judd AKA Jug a pint because I am feeling guilty for always having a pop and I am told by Razzle R17ale that he is a sensitive (albeit moody) soul. "a sensitive (albeit moody) soul." You're making him sound far sexier than he is. Although he does smoke Marlboro reds.

I was told he gets a bit aggressive after a pint so I was going to get him a shandy and hope he didn't notice. I thought he might have gone to the Forever Bury beer festival this weekend. 51 real ales all at £2 per pint. I'm off there in a bit for a swift few whilst Mrs Pops does some shopping at our world famous market. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

A bury shandy? That'll be 1 part beer, 9 parts lemonade

In Bury FC accounting terms that's 29% Beer and 114% Lemondade.

Stanley Con club is the best bet. Hidden behind the co op and 2 mins from the ground. Sam Smith's ale and a bit of pre match snooker and crown green bowls. I find the Swan overrated.

I was in the social club pre match and young Josh was in there and whilst talking to his mate I overhead him telling a story that he was picked on when he was younger on a website called rivals.com. It reminded me about the dating advice I used to give the lad re Norkola. Had to laugh because he has no idea who I am but I always get a hello out of him.
