I assumed (perhaps wrongly) the reason Lambert wasn't playing him was because Villa want to sell him to use the money to buy players, so he's working with the team he's likely to have in January (with Benteke as striker). |  |

If he's more than 4.5 mill its too much and I hope Harry can find better around that price. We have had a habit under both previous managers of taking players their current club didn't want for stupid money either in fees or wages. For example Barton, Ferdinand, Zamora, Johnson, Wright-Phillips, Bosingwa and probably others I haven't thought of. Our club must be the absolute worst for having an overpaid collection of these kind of players and its time our club bid for up and coming players at reasonable prices rather than overbidding for other peoples cast-offs.
If he's not good enough for Lambert, why should he be good enough for us? |  |

I understand the enthusiasm about wanting DJ Cambell back on the basis that he's meant to be a QPR fan, local lad yadda yadda yadda, but realistically reckoning that he is good enough to score goals for us, I can't see it?
Lets face it, he's not and never will be that great in the Prem. Blackpool aside who went Gun Ho attacking, he scored a few goals.

Has the recent managerial player choices shown you nothing about what a little loyalty/fight/application can do for a team? I am not saying Campbell is the answer to our problem, but we have seen how players with limited ability that have a point to prove are twice as good as those that cant be arsed.
I would have him back and give him an opportunity to prove himself, he scored 13 goals in a pretty poor and ultimately relegated Blackpool team, lets not write him off because Hughes did.
I agree with you about Bent though, would be a great signing for us |  |
