Does it get any more mid-table than that?

Currently...

Long may that perfect equilibrium between the two continue. The upper end of the table is a pipe dream so steady state for the remainder of the season will do for me.

It might be the trauma of the last few seasons speaking but I still see us as perfectly capable of going on a 6 match losing streak and hurtling back toward that bottom three.

Far more than I do going on a 6 match winning run and flying up toward the top six anyway!

Providing we get our injured players back and players stay fit plus a couple of decent signings this transfer window then we have every chance of pushing up close to the play-offs.....there isn't a lot out there as we have already seen.

We have a decent squad of players and some proper leaders here as well and, don't forget, the Manager and his close Team.

I thought there might be a chance of playoffs so I looked into it last week based off our goodish run of form in the 2nd half of last season. If we get the same amount of points for our remaining 20 games as we did last season then combined with what we already have it wouldn't have been close to playoffs in any of the previous 15 seasons. It would take a huge push in order to make playoffs, with our current personnel I can see it happening.

We have had a favourable run of fixtures over the last 6 weeks, which is just as well with our injury list.Only Watford were in the top 6 in that period.I’d happily take this position at the end of the season though.

One man's mediocrity is another man's momentary peace and quiet.

Not saying I don't want more but hell it's nice not having EVERY. SINGLE. MATCH. as a must win.

I’m with you.

That’s why my median safety buffer is 12 points from the drop line.
It’s so easy to lose 3 games in a week at this level and lurch from safe to looking over your shoulder. Cuts both ways at bottom and top.

Fact is though that we need 7 more wins and it is yet another Marti miracle that we are saying that now compared to 8 weeks ago

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Interesting.....I not sure that we will make the play-offs but I think we will be higher up the league than we currently finding ourselves.

My position is that as a supporter & player, I've always regarded the first goal of any season is mathmatically being safe fron relegation. We have a long way to go to achieve this.

What I can't understand though is your continuous choice of needing 53 points to stay up & that we won't draw any games! I would say that avoiding defeat in 15 matches (minimum of 47 points) is more likely to be enough.

Do I think we will do that? No, but there is a very good chance we will win a few, thus increasing the number of games we can lose.

Personally, I don't like the look of next week & I would feel more optimistic if we were playing Sheffield United rather than Wednesday!

I have quite a nice bet @ 8/1 to finish top half, which placed after the Stoke game. Hopefully we can keep averaging 2 points a game for a bit longer and end any chances of relegation.

I saw a poll on that X thingy from some EFL account yesterday where people were asked to predict their bottom 3. I scrolled through loads of it and not a single mention of us - apart from a bloke who said “Not my QPR anymore”.
Even fans who hate us don’t think of us as relegation material anymore.

48 plus would probably be the line

50 more certain

52 an accepted safety total so 53 is always my target
My use of wins just to illustrate the point…. Would I take 5 wins and six draws? Of course!!

We are still a long way from being home n hosed and I’d like to see points racked up as quickly as possible while confidence is high. That starts with a win on Saturday at Plymuff please

1 point per game from here would get us to 52. And breathe.

However, on current form a push towards the top 6 is not, completely, out of the question. In the short term we have Plymouth, Hull, Wednesday and Millwall. So nothing scary there. It's when we have to play Leeds, Burnley and Sheff U, all at home, that will be the real test of how far this team can go.

Absolutely this. At the end of November I thought we were doomed. No complaining at all, just thought that the equilibrium between 'success' and 'failure' is rarely so perfectly balanced.

No arguments from me with that Lblock, especially racking up the points quickly, although I think that 52 is too high for the "accepted safety total".

It's the games against the sides below us that concern me rather than those above us!
