You can’t underestimate the power of wanting something to be true as absurd as it may be.

It is the internet mun , everything is real and genuine .
Bit off tangent but a few years ago got a phone call claiming to be from HSBC regarding updating my firewall and online security , HSBC needed to update it .
I did fall for the conversation for a while , it was so genuine and I was ready to release some personal data to the caller and looking back I was a total idiot to get duped .
Luckily at the very last minute I smelt a rat and hung up , further calls from these all the time changed numbers continued for a few days until they gave up .
Call Centre background noise and chatter are now a tool for these scams , all available to any scammer , they download it and pretend to be honest .
Cold calling taught me to hang up ASAP , lesson learned . | | | |
