January Transfer Window on 13:08 - Nov 3 with 2958 views | ReslovenSwan1 | A decent forward signing theoretically would cost £2m. If the club instead dedicated this money to Cabango and Darling £10k a week each for two years it is the same. Swansea was able to keep Ash Williams Tate and Monk at the club and it gave close on a decade of stability.

I look at it similarly but differently. To replace Cabango we would need to spend at least £1.5M. Spread it over 3 years £10K a week add it to the £5K and it's £15K a week, just pay him the money now. Darling is walking in the summer and we have to accept it, give him £15K a week and he is still going.
January Transfer Window on 16:04 - Nov 3 with 2804 views | AnotherJohn | I agree that a decent midfielder would bring more goals, but I still think we have a weakness in the air when it comes to strikers and do need to strengthen there. Vipotnik has been disappointing when it comes to converting high crosses and Cullen is even poorer in that department.

Realistically how do you think that would go. Would they really employ someone who knows what they are doing and more to the point would they listen to them and do what they say.

I think some of the players from Watson’s time at the Swans will do likewise on balance.

Are we suggesting that they'd prefer to keep spending money for no real return? On the contrary, I believe current ownership would like nothing more than football management who can provide a significant return on investment. The mixed messages and uncertainty on where the hell we want to go has been a major factor in our struggles in recent seasons. If they could find someone as in tune as Jenkins was between 2007 and 2013 they'd happily let him get on with it.

thats the Problem the owners wont pay the going rate, as our windows show , Mr Birch left after his trip to usa after a no show from at least one if not both of the owners , some one of his ilk is needed along with some realistic championship players ( who want the going rate like Darling)

I think Birmingham would be a good fit for Darling in the summer.
January Transfer Window on 11:12 - Nov 5 with 1937 views | shandyjack | Vipotnik Bianchini EOM Ronald Grimes Franco This line up is more than capable of goals when we play quixker football. MPH/Cullen/Cooper/Govea/Parker all good depth options. We could definitely do with another number 10. Although i'd rather us sign on Cabango and Darling at the expense of new players in the window. If it was an either or situation

Keeping both cabango and darling is vital for our survival, lose both or even one could be disastrous.

Birch could have been sacked for handing over the clubs players and facilities for a organisation with no relevance to Swansea or Wales. To suggest Birch left because he was snubbed is ridiculous. So who snubbed him Kaplan Levien or both? He left to join Spurs massive upgrade. He left them as well a little later. [Post edited 5 Nov 12:56]

You made it up they never said " next level". What they said was their aim to be " best in class" . To work better and smarter than the opposition. Swans TV and recruitment have needed an upgrade. Watson said recruitment was chaotic when he arrived. How can that be.? Andy Scott supposedly upgrade the systems 3 years ago. [Post edited 5 Nov 13:20]

Watson said there was no recruitment process in place when he arrived which does not reflect well on the ownership group. The focus needs to be on recruitment and planning. Worry less about Swans TV.

SwansTV shouldn't be an issue if you go to games. For away games I don't go to I normally watch the opposition coverage. Sky+ is as it is anyway.

please can you expand upon your first sentence. And context is important. Mr Birch left Spurs to become CEO of the EFL during the pandemic. A role which he still holds today.

He wasn’t snubbed, he isn’t daft, he saw what was happening, he applied for another job and got away.

a slightly muddled comment about Andy Scott - Paul Watson. There was a two year gap between Scott leaving and Watson joining.

Good win tonight well fought for, now with the meanest defence we have had in years should show these people both here and over there in usa that we MUST sign both centre backs like tomorrow bring in 1 or 3 more quality guys and who knows where we could finish, not going to happen as the people holding the puirse strings will not open them up for what is needed as they wont spend the going rate for uk championship players

We do need to get better at putting opponents away when we’re dominant. As people have already said, we invariably have a rocky spell towards the end. Watford, despite being a step up from most of the teams we play, didn’t actually create any decent chances, but their #8 had a lot of possession down their left towards the end and looked threatening. Oxford did nothing all game and very nearly stole a draw. Milwall should have been two or three down by the time they scored. Off the top of my head, the Cardiff and Bristol City games should have been done and dusted, but we were hanging on in both after they equalised. Just need to be a bit more clinical in the box now. Edit - Sorry should be on the matchday thread [Post edited 6 Nov 8:17]
