I don't think we should be too hard on the poor fellow - he's suffering from a very rare bone complaint. Oh, now what's it called ? Oh yes, Idle.

It's a shame he's not on a pay-as-you-play contract.

If all our players were on a pay as you play contract under Ainsworth, we would only be paying Ilias and all the others would actually be owing us money as they certainly werent playing football during the great ones reign of Loftus!!!

After Adomoah alluding to him last season, I actually wonder if the players would have him anywhere near the squad

The problem is going to get worse now IMO seeing those pictures from the training sessions and our players dead on their feet after hard sessions in that heat.
They are like blood brothers suffering for the good of the squad and it will create serious bonds amoung those in that oven.
Richards will be completly frozen out now unless he has a doctors note and that will eventually mean nothing in that dressing room

As I said pages ago…. I’m seriously impressed the club had a loan deal lined up in January

If Nourry somehow rids the club of this pox of a player, even for six months of his scandalous contract, then he’s approaching Godlike status.
I know we’ve had the Boswankas etc of this world but Richards somehow feels worse, maybe just because he’s current, and it grinds my gears.

Telling that there’s more threads about him here than he’s done minutes for the club and the people posting on those threads have used more energy doing so than he has in sweat for the hooped jersey.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

He was given a fresh start this time last year in Austria. Ainsworth and Dobson wiped the slate clean, took him, played him, bent over backwards really. His performance in the second friendly out there was disgusting. Ainsworth admitted he'd "tossed it off".

I really don't get this one at all,

Lad comes from a good family, was at City's Academy for maybe 5 years so must have some discipline, Brighton saw enough in him to spend decent money on him (and they'e no mugs) and fairly sure he played a season in League 1 for Doncaster Rovers with presumably positive reports?

Only explanation is he's back knocking around with childhood pals and at 22 (?) is reliving the youth he missed out on having relocated to Manchester from age of 14 to 19.

I still hav'nt completely given up he will come to his senses but maybe the £5m odd he's probably already banked in his career will extinguish any desire he once had of playing professional football.

Think the writing was on the wall when we signed him on loan with option to buy for £750k from Brighton, they must have been desperate to offload at a bargain basement price when they usually sell to the lot down the road for millions.

That £5m sounds a lot, but it will soon go if he is acting the big I am around his 'mates'. I can't for a minute think he has a financial advisor guiding him.

Waste of space.

There was no "option"

It was just can kicking.

That means he's eaten into last years FFP Transfer Budget.
He still eats into this years FFP Salary Budget and, shockingly, another two years after that.

Any "pay off" alongside a move to another thick as Rick Wallers neckline club will be considerable and I'd hope it can be amortised by the club.

Might be Wise to send him there on loan in that case. Will look forward to the Match Previn.

I wonder if the club has simply had enough and frozen Richards out? He was excluded from the squad in January and is now nowhere to be seen. If there are clubs interested in taking him - more fool them - he must surely be fit enough to play.

EDIT: Funnily enough I just spotted this article which suggests Cifuentes has form when it comes to excluding a player. http://sportwitness.co.uk/player-insists-doesnt-want-drama-clearly-problems-qpr-
