With so many music heads on here, I'm wondering if there are some who, like me, have constant earworms; that is songs always playing in their heads?
My current earworm is Midnight Train to Georgia by Gladys Knight and the Pips which I've had for several days. I don't mind too much as it's such a great song.
Ever since I watched series 4 of Stranger Things with my kids it's been Kate Bush 'Running up That Hill'. I either hum or whistle it every morning, it drives my wife mad.
Not an ear worm as such more a Pavlovian trigger, but whenever I’m looking for something ie: keys, wallet, phone, bank card, novel, important documentation, you name it, and I eventually find it, a bubbly synth intro begins in my mind and with a relief I’ll sing out loud the chorus of ‘There it is’ by Shalamar. This happens almost on a daily fcuking basis.
Pavlovian Trigger. A little known 80s East German synth band whose only album, Dachshund Spit, could get you arrested by the Stasi if you had it.
I’d imagine Pavlovian Trigger to sound like this which would believe it has been an ear worm for me for decades “Aiee acham La!” No idea what it means.
They say the earworm thing increases as you get older. I have catholic tastes and sometimes I can't immediately identify said peace of music for quite a time.

I think Aiee acham La means “ buy a f*****g striker “ in English.
I nearly always have a song playing in my head. Currently it's the intro to 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover as I've been learning the chords for it.
I like always having a soundtrack going on in there. But it can be a bit of a c*nt if a song gets in that I hate. I know it'll sound 'a bit much' but if I'm in a place and they start playing Simply Red shit I run outside and start thinking of other songs.
Weirdly, my go to earworm erasing song is the Alien Ant Farm version of Smooth Criminal.
Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.
Constant earworm sufferer. I say sufferer because I can get crap songs stuck in my head too. Nice one at the moment, though.
Disarm by Smashing Pumpkins atm. A decent enough song to be stuck with for a bit but it’s only in my mind because I read (um, only recently, 30-odd years later) it’s about his bully father knocking him about when he was a kid.
