As made clear in this thread I don’t think he’s anywhere near Championship standard but come on he’s managed nearly 100 Championship appearances and appeared in the Africa Cup of Nations so he’s clearly league 1 or 2 standard.
It's a very valid point, Ned, but does it absolutely follow that playing nigh on 100 games in the Championship means you are a decent player? I mean Gus Ceasar racked up a few in the Premier League, as did Steve Yates, Karl Ready - and even their own families would surely not believe they were PL standard.
Good luck to Ossie, but in my mind he was a woeful defender and fair fckus if he has got that gig.
Hevertton Santos has joined the team in 5th place and Boavista are 3rd last so not that big a leap really.
"a diseased bunch of mofos if there ever was one, their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons."

I was very surprised there was no interest in him in the summer.
He was a reasonable understudy and got a lot of games because he generally was not injured.
He wasn't the best with a few aspects of his game but he definitely gave it his all and on occasions was effective.
Yes, I think perhaps he was fortunate to be with us for so long and at our level but he was a fully committed player like a few we have had. Limited levels regarding talent and nouse at times but he is definitely decent enough at the right level for him.
Anyone who can have a career in sport during their younger adult years is living the dream in my eyes and Professional sport takes a lot of dedication and discipline.
A lovely move for him, even if Boavista are relegated this season. He'll be playing in the stadium I hope will be the blueprint for a new home for us one day.
Its happened! Not bad for a lad who's apparently non-league at best and won't leave London. I
Been with us the best part of 20 years, always looked like he gave us his best. Great chance for him to continue his football career with some sun. Good luck Ossie!
Just been scanning Boavista news, and they have a 'interesting' history with transfers and bans to say the least.
Still hope it's true. Kakay in Europe would be quite something.
Edit: scrap that, they are rooted to the bottom.

For anyone interested, as I had no idea...Boavista have had a 2 year transfer ban which was lifted yesterday. They then signed 9 players all on a free.
Kakay was living near me and we bumped into each other numerous times. On one occasion he popped into a shop, bought a pen and got his match worn shirt from his car a signed it as a gift. Always had time for a chat and was a top bloke, giving his all to the side. Glad he's found a club and wish him the best
