The boy is talented. Not sure what went on behind closed doors at but his face clearly didn't seem to fit and didn't get the opportunity with us. I think 1m is a bit of a bargain for that potential though.

We don't know what he may have been going through, being shit for us doesn't mean anything, player no fitting in at a club isn't unheard of, no tinted specs on here of any colour.

He is an absolute bargain at £1m. Often compared with Phil Foden at the same age. Could be a huge missed opportunity

£1mill! They might, with a bit of luck, get their money back.

Just because a player comes through the ranks at a big club it doesn't automatically mean they are any good, it's just the big clubs taking a punt and the law of averages some will make it. Patio flattered to deceive, yes he has talent but he lacks discipline. Personally I wouldn't take a chance at £1M.

The Summer Transfer Rumours Thread on 20:59 - Aug 21 with 2758 views | Dr_Winston | It's kinda bonkers that people seem to be mocking Patino for securing a move to Spain rather than wondering why he was kicking his heels on our bench whilst LW preferred the Grimes/Fulton pairing. I hope Patino does well. Lord knows he didn't get a proper chance here for most of the second half of last season, even when he would have been a much, much better option.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

"Better option," on Planet Bonkers maybe, the guy was a waste of a shirt.

And this is the reason Grimes plays every week. We’ve had two better midfielders since relegation IMO. One played whenever fit and went to West Ham for big money, the other is always injured. I actually think Patino would be worth it at £1m. He’s got no regard for/understanding of where he’s meant to be out of possession and he’s overly petulant, but he’s the type who could easily turn into a £10m + player with a bit of nurturing. Grimes and Fulton will never be that.

Patino end up being part of a midfield with two experienced players Grimes and Paterson and when they played on the front foot actually moved the ball forward hence a number of Paterson's goals and a nice little run of games where we looked better and won a few games, we then tried to play defensively in the first game against Leicester and he was not the only one who had no idea where they were meant to be. Dropped for Fulton and struggled to get back in the team, Platino eventually got a run out at the end of the season but made a typical youngsters mistake against Birmingham which cost us. Don't think he is as bad as some make out but needed experience at a higher level than u21s, which is why his club loaned him to us.

And shows the folly of bringing in kids who “ might” go on to be good players ,for THEIR club . Patino had talent and started well then got mucked about . He wasn’t alone .

morning one and all, Max i agree its all down to money, we were told planning was well advanced before the window opened, that clearly did not involve the finacial part of the planning , well to me does not look like it. Having said that the 4 guys that have come in are a big improvement and if only the purse strings could be opened in the next 8 days to bring in the 4 or 5 guys of simuilar quality to those already in we will have a fair season without them we are not equiped to go the season and be competative we have lost guys because the u s a people will not pay the going uk rate for players so unless they change we have what we have. we all want to see swansea there or there abouts but this window is a mirror image of many others since these owners have come in, a lot of promice then panic loans or buys, they have approx 8 days to see which way they want us to go, one way will see the crowds return, the other will see smaller crowds sorry to say

Personally I think they went into this window with a plan to recruit players on lower wages and longer contacts and they are finding it much harder than they thought. Granted Eom and Franco seem to be good purchases, but currently we don't have the numbers for a long hard season in the Championship. We will either need to change our strategy in the coming days or get very lucky, possibly both. All the talk of 3-4 quality signings seems to have stalled, there must be reasons.

Apart from the Swedish guy ( if he's to be believed ) nobody actually wants to come to Swansea its a case of finding players ( which we have ) that nobody else is looking at and persuade them to join us. It has been sucessful this season but the pool of those players is getting smaller by the day, until our war chest gets larger and we can go against other teams that fancy a player then this is the only way we can operate. We are not a well known team/brand atm, at least 2 of the players we've got in during this window have said how they are happy now playing in England. The Yanks really really need to step up the commercial side of things and get serious money coming into the club, they all said they were experts in this. We need to exploit the Indonesian and Korean market for shirt sales at the very least. [Post edited 22 Aug 10:33]
