Fair Game statement to the FA on 20:30 - May 1 with 2789 views | pioneer | Keep the FA Cup as is (ie played at weekends with replays) but make participation voluntary. We might lose 2 or 3 clubs who dont need the fame and prize money because they are almost guaranteed champions league participation and its riches but for most premier league clubs its another route to the riches of european qualification.

Agreed and most teams will know where their season lies by Jan anyway. If they are that concerned then they should stack their teams with the stars in the first place. It is not the lower leagues teams fault that their B teams can't beat them first time of asking. Don't whine, try harder!

I believe that all clubs, no matter who they are, still have to fill in an entry form every summer. No one is in the competition automatically. A bit archaic I know but there’s nothing to actually stop any of the “bigger” clubs from participating. That won’t happen of course because they still want to try and win it but only on their terms.

They might have to fill in the form but it is compulsory. United had to get special dispensation from FA not to take part a few years ago when Blatter had the world club cup extravaganza in Brazil.

Fair Game statement to the FA on 11:56 - May 2 with 2290 views | Dalenet | The National League supported the abolition of the FA Cup replays and have been in discussions with the Premier League about us joining together in a new cup compeition. https://theathletic.com/5450014/2024/04/26/premier-league-national-league-compet The comment that the Premier League will be subsidising the competition because we will be allowed to retain the gate receipts is a little patronising. These B team players have to have games whether in the reserves, the youth set up or a National League mainstream team. And the National League is clearly out of touch with its own clubs on this one

Fair Game statement to the FA on 14:16 - May 2 with 2134 views | SuddenLad | There should be a minimum sum per game, that clubs receive in order to cover the costs of staging the match. Otherwise what's the point in losing money in a competition that is never going to be well attended.
